Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent to their office manager a few moments ago. I believe it fully outlines my entire experience and that of my poor partner...

Dear Sir or Madam,

My partner came for an interview and subsequent training day with your company this week. We were excited to think that he would be working for Lovefilm and that he would be fast tracked to management.

The interview itself appeared to go well, our problems began on the day of his training. At NO point prior to the morning of the training itself was it made clear that he would be going out into the streets knocking on doors in a questionable area attempting to sign people up for a subscription to Lovefilm. He was informed that he would be finishing at 8pm, however, because you had driven him out to aforementioned questionable area and he had no way of controlling the time and manner
of his return to your office he did not finish his days "training" until 8:30pm. In fact, he did not leave your office until 10pm because you insisted upon performing the final stage of his interview immediately! I was worried sick at home, unable to reach him on the phone as he was attempting to be professional and accomodating, then to top matters off he was penalised for having just moved into the area and being unable to start work TOMORROW MORNING with NO NOTICE whatsoever!

You then had the nerve, after all the unprofessional practice you had demonstrated to this point, to inform him that he must e-mail this address "pledging why he would be better than any of the other people you had interviewed for the job" and basically begging you to take him on despite the fact that he could not attend work at a mere 14hrs (we are assuming you would have asked him to start at 12pm) notice. At this point I researched your company on the internet...

After researching your company on the internet it has become all the clearer what a scam you are, and I will do the best I can to ensure that all my friends and family are aware of what happened regarding my partner's recent experience of your recruitment process so that they do not run foul of your questionable recruitment methods. I will be adding comments to the forums and other entries on websites regarding yourselves supporting the already existing (and almost identical in many
cases) accounts of your practices.

I am also going to lodge formal complaints with the DWP and the popular jobsearch websites regarding your adverts. Whereas it appears you have exploited loopholes in our current laws regarding this subject and you have not actually performed anything illegal the fact remains that what you are doing is IMMORAL!

I am disgusted by your company and the manner in which this entire process has been handled. You have not directly lied, no, you have been far more conniving. By ommitting relevant information during your recruitment process you have highlighted yourselves as being untrustworthy and manipulative. Not good company practice or good sales, one must wonder in fact how much information you ommit when selling products on behalf of reputable companies. I hope you can sleep soundly
at night being aware of the potential harm you are causing by misleading and taking advantage of potentially vulnerable people who are in dire need of a job in todays economical climate, not to mention the potentially vulnerable adults on their very doorsteps...

One last thing - Regarding my partner's "job offer" on the condition of him sending you the aforementioned e-mail... We appreciate your offer but would like to respectfully decline with the intention of finding a more promising, morally sound and reputable company for whom to enrich with my partners skills and experience.

Kindest personal regards,
