On June 3,2008 I received in the mail an envelope with a pre addressed label, no return address and a Canadian post mark. Singed by Lewis McGregor and Mary Williams.

In side was a check for $4, 890.00 along with a letter notifying me of my $250,000.00 winnings in US dollars.

The check was written by Century Bank Sarasota Fl on an account for United Access Inc.

The only things legitimate about this are the post mark, stamp, and Century Bank.

In addition, the address on the letter head seems to not exist, and the phone is a cell number generated form the Toronto area.


As for the bank the check is written on Century Bank has a fraud alert on their web site, but this particular bank account and company name is not listed.

I do remember hearing a news segment about sweepstakes fraud a few weeks ago Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley


This guy seems to be targeting the north east presently. The scam looks like its been around for at least a year setting up accounts in vacation or remote areas where people are transient.
