Two months ago my brother had told me that I could sign up for a payday loan on usaloans.com or something, since I don't have a car at this moment and we were strapped I was going to try this instead of having my fiance have to drive out to where the loan place is, if I could get a fair amount of money with a not too high intrest rate. I never went through with the loan, and never approved to become a member of the Unlimited Local Savings Club either, Now when I check my account and see that I was charged a $19.99 membership fee I promptly called the number on the said "Approved" check.  "Unsubcribed" from the company that I never signed up for in the first place.

I have just recently become unemployed.  We just paid our rent so we had little money in our account, now we have that charge and a $36 overdraft charge that I can't pay off so there will be an additional $10 everyday it goes unpaid. And no hope of ever seeing my money again.  First thing Monday I'm going to our bank filing a fraud complaint and hoping they will refund the overdraft charges.  I wish this charge would have posted yesterday so I could have done more about it tomorrow will be a dreaded day of waiting for Monday.

And if I don't get my refund from ULS I will hound them, this was in no way shape of form authorized by me, and I've seen no savings if I had signed up for it!  My question is, if this is a monthly charge why didn't they charge me last month, since it has been 2 months since I tried the online payday loans?  I am LIVID and stressed like no other, yes $19.99 doesn't seem like much, but it's too much for me right now especially with all the bank charges that will add on to that if they do not agree to refund the overdraft and other charges do to this fraud. This is a mess.

How Dumb Is This??

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 10, 2011

I'm not usually into ad hominem arguments, but what in the world possessed you to somehow think it was OK to get a payday loan when you didn't have a job?  And just exactly is "not too high an interest rate?"  99%?  88%?  782.14% on one I saw recently?  There is NO circumstance in the world where a payday loan is acceptable, let alone a situation like yours when you're not working in any capacity because there's no way you'll ever pay anything like that back.  I get that you never got the loan, but even considering it...is stupidity.  You would have been better off getting a loan from your brother or a friend, and paying the loaner 10% interest on the loan.

At this point, I don't think the fraud claim is going to work, but you can try it.  The worst they can say is not a chance.  You may not even be able to dispute the fee at this point; if they have any documentation.... (and they will)....you're going to be out of luck.  I would consider once this account is brought back to zero - have the bank close your account and open another account for you so the payday place can't access your funds...again.
