My husband was supposed to be relocated. I set up a mover the same day we found out his relocation was cancelled.  I immediatly called the mover it was 2.5 hours later and they refused to refund our $1,100.  They claimed in that 2 hours they had 3 other calls for that particualar routenwere turned down. I said that means that the law of averages is you will book this 4x over within 3 hours of when we hang up.

How does a company refuse to cancel an order made 2.5 hrs earlier. Risking thier name and reputaion over $1,100 which means nothing to them and the world to me. I tried to reason. I went up the chain of command and still they refused. Not to mention that they Call themselves United Moving Services totally playing off the name of the Nantional Company which I now know is United Van Lines I thought I was speaking to that national company but did not ask up front if they were the same lesson learned.

I am disgusted that a company would be so sleazy as to charge me $1,100 for basically reserving a moving van for 2 hours with no services rendered.

It did not happen quite as smoothly as this vendor makes it seems but we did finally get a refund.  I only hope they have destroyed my credit card number.

Report is completely fabricated

AUTHOR: United Moving Services - ()

This report is completely fabricated.  We honor cancelation requests all the time.  More importantly, we honored this customers cancelation request as well.  Unfortunately we just didn't do it right when she snapped her fingers.  She was notified the first time she called in that we were passing the request along to the accounting department and to look out for email confirmation that the deposit had been refunded.  In the next 30 minutes she sent 4 additional emails.  Her transaction was voided and reservation canceled within 1 hour of her first request so we're all dumbfounded by the posting of her report.  Can't please everyone I suppose?

FROM http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/how-to/subpartE

You and your mover must sign the order for service. Your mover must provide a dated copy of the order for service to you at the time your mover signs the order. Your mover must provide you the opportunity to rescind the order for service without any penalty for a three-day period after you sign the order for service, if you scheduled the shipment to be loaded more than three days after you sign the order. - See more at: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/how-to/subpartE#sthash.1ZgaDFsw.dpuf

As this DOT Report Shows United Moving is reqired by law to give me 3 days to recind they would not give me 3 hours
