NYS Public Adjusters are available to home and business owners to represent them to their insurance carriers when they have suffered any type of property damage.  Public Adjusters prepare, handle, negotiate & settle claims on the policy holders behalf.  The NY Insurance Department governs public adjusters and strictly enforces certian practices.  As a public adjuster you can only solicit clients between the hours of 8AM & 6PM.  The adjusters at United Public Adjusters on Sunday 4/26 solicited fire victims after 9PM in a hotel lobby where they were being placed after they lost their home.  On top of this illegal solicitation practice the homeowner was intoxicated and being persuaded to sign United Public Adjusters Contract by Mike Maltaghati & Anthony Delorenzo.  This is a common practice of this firm among other unethical practices they use.  BEWARE of United Public Adjusters & Appraisers and stay away from them.  They are now under investigation by the New York State Insurance Department for their illegal solicitation practice which was caught on video clear as day.  They should be stripped of their adjusting licenses and not allowed to handle claims ever again.  Stay away from United Public Adjusters!
