I PAID IN FULL!

After I Paid in Full and Was Waiting for Delivery of My Building I Received a BILL For a %35 Percent Increase!!! THEY EVEN CHARGED ME FOR THEIR MISTAKE ON THE INITIAL DRAWINGS!!!
When I Spoke With Them about my new bill
(Seeing My Salesperson BOB Was No Where to EVER BE FOUND) I Was Told That
EVERY TIME STEEL RISES IN PRICE I WOULD BE CHARGED!!! Even if it was on a truck in route to me and steel went up they would charge me until I signed for the delivery!!!

My PROMISED DELIVERY DATE was pushed up every time I tried to contact them!!!

Half the time the customer service 1 800 number they advertise DOES NOT WORK!!!

I Simply did not have the money to keep giving them... at this rate my small 24x25 foot building would have cost 15-16 Thousand Dollars by the time of delivery. My First Quote Was Under FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! I offered to let them keep the several THOUSAND DOLLARS they charged me for the drawings of the building and I would receive the remainder monies I paid in refund. Even though my building hadn't even started production, THEY SAID NO!!! TO READ THE FINE PRINT!!!

SO BASICALLY THEY RIP YOU OFF IF YOU DON'T HAVE MORE MONEY LATER... INITIAL QUOTE FROM SALES PERSON MEANS NOTHING!

If you are planning on buying a building from these guys expect to have MUCH MORE MONEY before you can ever actually get it!
Run From this 'Steel Company!!!'

NOW THEY SAY THAT EVERY TIME STEEL RISES I GET CHARGED UNTIL IT IS SIGNED AND DELIVERED...

FUNNY THE UP-CHARGE ON THE STEEL IS 35% the SAME AS THE SALE THEY GAVE ME(35% Off)

THEY ARE CONNIVING LIARS

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR CRAP!

Fake USPS Tracking Numbers!!

AUTHOR: Edward - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 27, 2009

I made a purchase on Oct 1st for $2,300 and got a tracking number on the 6th. For 5 days, the tracking number never updated. I contacted United Steel and they told me that it just takes some time to update. I waited another 7 days (12 total from the purchase date) and it was the same thing. I contacted USPS to ask them and they told me that the tracking number was invalid (it wasn't even close to a real one, it was a series of random numbers). Instead of being 32 characters in length, it was 26... TOTAL F'ING SCAM!!!

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

"If It Sounds To Good To Be True It Is!"

AUTHOR: Ex-employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 11, 2009

After filing formal complaints with The State of Florida's Attorney Generals Office, Broward County Consumer Protection, SF Better Business Bureau, The State Attorneys Office, Broward County Sheriffs Department, and Florida Unemployment all of my efforts have fallen on deft ears. As quickly as I disclosed the facts about how this company was lying to customers the "case(s)" have been "officially" closed before they even were opened. Apparently in the State of Florida it appears that "fraud" or conspiring to create fraud is not so "illegal" afterall. According to the Florida Unemployment Rules if a person like myself leaves their job "voluntarilly" because that person refused to lie to people(customers) it is deemed that they left "without" good cause and no "insurance" benefits are paid. In essense doing what is "right" apparently is considered "wrong" in Florida. Perhaps I am naive?

My issues with USB are complex and very detailed. Not everyone that cross paths with this company will have the same "problem", so I wont elaborate on specifics at this time. One thing , however; that is for sure, is that you will have "problems".

Prefabricated Steel Buildings are an excellent product. Just be sure to do your homework and due dilgence before signing anything or sending any money to anyone. You will be better off for this high level of caution.

If you can help me or If I can be of help to you just let me know. I will do my best to see that "justice" prevails.

God Bless,

DF

The same thing happened to me, only with a LOT more money. The building that was quoted to me for around $100,000 is now going to cost about $150,000!!! They did the same thing to me. They made a mistake and charged me for it. They let me pick colors that wouldn't work for the type of roof panel, then they blamed me for the delay because of the time it took for the new color selection. I asked them to change one VERY SIMPLE thing on the drawings and it took over a month. They charged me for a 40% steel increase!! None of which we could do anything about. We talked to lawyers, but the agreement we signed is stupid... which might make us stupid... However, I work in the construction business and I sign purchase orderes from different companys all of the time. None of which I would sign if I read all of the fine print and believed it would actually go down that way. I assume I'm dealing with a company that will act with some integrity when things go bad. With United Steel Building... not so in my case.

We started the process with United Steel Building in April. It's December now and I STILL DON'T HAVE my building!!! And they won't even give me a date. All they say is that it will be 60 to 80 WORKING DAYS from the time the deal is finalized. The Owner we are building this building for is pissed and I don't blame him. He though he would be working out of his new building by now... and he should be. I have no doubt that we would be completely finished with this project by now.

Don't let the salesman fool you either... "MIKE" seems very nice and very concerned about getting the order right. Even pressured us to sign so we could "sign before the steel price increase", indicating that we would be locked-in at a certain price. After we signed, I was then contacted by "MELINDA" who treated me like an inconvenience to her (which must be an epidemic around that office since that's the wall all them treated me after the salesman was done whoo-ing me). They respond like I'm some kind of idiot evertime I call to ask if they have any information regarding the delivery of my building.

The good news is I WILL NEVER USE UNITED STEEL BUILDING ever again. I don't like absolutes when it comes to buisness loyalty (or disloyalty in this case), but I can confidently say I will never use them again. We are currently bidding a few much larger projects and I am using NUCOR as my metal building supplier.

I don't think we are alone either... When I first started dealing with USB, they had a "B" rating on BBB... now they have a "D" rating. Go figure. The lady in the "shipping" department (I'm not convinced there really is any shipping done by USB) says people have been calling her threatening her kids! I asked her how she could work for a company like that... she shrugged it off. to her credit, at least she is civil. But even she refuses to tell me anything about when my building will be delivered.

My experience with United Steel Building has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in ANY business transaction.

RUN. RUN. RUN. RUN from United Steel Building.
