I received a call from this company trying to sell me advertising on maps for $139 a year. I was informed they were partnered with our local Chamber of Commerce. I asked who they worked with in our Chamber of Commerce and they couldn't remember their name. After waiting about 5 minutes on hold I hung up.
I got a call back after about 15 minutes later telling me the contact's name. I looked up the Chamber's number and called them to verify the information. After speaking with the VP of the Chamber of Commerce and found out the contact was their afternoon receptionist. Obviously, the receptionist wasn't a part of this company or had even heard of them.
This is either a bad business practice or a scam. They are for sure liars, though.

They are definately a scam

Your suspicions are correct. This company is a huge scam. First off, maps are being presented as Chamber endorsed maps. They claim a distrub of 6000 with many of them being given to local realtors to hand out to new home buyers. I've never recieved a proof for my ad and it was wrong both times. (I stupidly gave them a seconed chance.) And my rep promised me that I would have free spots on the radio 4 times a day. This is a huge scam and am shocked that they have been in business as long as they have.
BEWARE consumer. If someone tries to sell you "map" advertising be careful of who your dealing with. Research before you buy. Universal Advertising prides themselves on deception.
