Universal Gas And Electric Corporation misleading sales tactics Southfield Michigan

a little over a year ago, my husband and i were approached by an universal salesperson. he said that we would save alot of money by signing with them. we were foolish and believed him. we signed for the home we live in and the vacant rental house we had. he knew it was a rental and said nothing to us about early termination fees.

not only do we pay more a year later, but now they are trying to charge us a $250 early termination fee for the rental. we finally, found someone in mi who had a job to rent the place. she put the gas in her name. she is on a month to month basis. when she moves out the gas goes back to our name, therefore, we go back to universal.

nowhere in the contact is there anything written about rentals, or termination fees resulting from the rentals.

so far, i have talked to cynthia, alka, and tom the night supervisor. basically, all they say is that i signed the contract and too bad for me.

monday morning i am going to call newscenter 8 from grand rapids and see if they have information that could help me, since they have done a report about this company twice already. too bad i didn't see this before i stupidly signed the contract.

any suggestions are welcome since i have had my hours at work cut yet again, have 3 packs of venison, 1 salmon, and all the veggies i have grown in my garden for the winter. times are tough in michigan, i get no assistance from the state and now this. i don't have $250 to pay even if this was legit.
