I received a phone call from Universal in late February asking if I would be interested in performing field inspections. I had to fill out paperwork and sign a contract. Everything looked official and professional. I was told that Universal was renting space on the First American Field Services website while there site was being built. I was provided with an ID and password and logged in to FAFS. I completed 220 inspections and then was away on vacation for 10 days. When I returned I had over 100 inspections in my name that were out of my coverage area. I tried to contact Adam (no last name is ever given), to find out what was going on and found out the cell phone he was using as an office line was disconnected. Also, the fax and land line had been disconnected.

After investigating, about a week later I found them on the internet. They had moved and changed their phone and not informed anyone. I called to find out what was up and spoke to Matt. Matt would not tell me his last name. I was told only 4 of my inspections were on time and they were not going to pay me. I finally got Matt to agree to 1/2. He said he would send a check on 3/19. On 3/28, I sent an e-mail to find out where the check was and they claim I already cashed it and do not owe me anything. I have contacted another 2 vendors with the same story.
