The check is going to bounce, it may take weeks, but it will bounce. And do NOT, absolutely do NOT send any money to the lotery company. Do not use Western Uniion, do not use a wire transfer, do nothing. Think about it, what lottery is going to send you money to have you send money back to them? And whatever you do, do not spend any of the money from that check, you will have to pay it back to the bank and may even be assessed fees. If you have already written checks against that check you better put the money back into your account before the 'lottery' check is not honored.

I understand you deposited the fake check. What the scammers want you to do is to send them money from the check. That is the scam, the check will come back as a fraud and you are left to pay back the bank. If you do nothing, DO NOT send the scammers any money, do not take any money from the fake check. The check will come back as fake and if you do not take out any money against the check then the bank will simply inform you that the check is fake and case closed. Since you now know what to do you should be ok.
