My letter to Universal Studios
August 9 I took my family to Universal Studios, the previous day we went to Knotts Berry Farm. We stayed at the Knotts Berry Farm resort from 8/7 -8/10
We had no set plans on what we were going to do on the 9th , we were considering Knotts Soak City or Disneyland. After we left Knotts [8/8] we got dinner at Burger King They had a Universal Studios coupon display, one side said $15 OFF, the other said BUY A DAY GET A YEAR FREE. My family decided to go to Universal Studios.
After almost a 2 hour drive I walked up to the ticket window gave the teller my coupon and ordered my tickets, he looked at my coupon and told me it was a reproduction and that he could not except it. I told him I got it from burger king and there were a lot more just like it, I asked him if Universal Studios was still taking BK coupons he said yes but the one I had was a copy because the paper felt different than the one he already had in the booth, at this point I started getting very upset, I told him, Why would I waste my time making a copy of a coupon especially when I can get as many as I want for free. He still refused to honor the coupon so I asked to see the manager. The manager went into the booth glanced at the coupon and refused to honor it. If it was up to me, I would have left but after the time it took us to get to Universal Studios and the time we would have wasted getting back to Buena Park my family talked me into staying. So for the next 3 hours that I was!
in the park I can honestly tell you I was not having much fun. I know it was less than $100 but I felt like some punk kid was accusing me of stealing.
The next day we went back to BK, the display was full of the same coupons we tried to use. Can you please tell me who is at fault BK or Universal Studios.
[I have coupons from 2 different BK's, paper is a little different but they are printed the same on both sides]

The situation you experienced with the coupon your presented is unfortunate, and your experience is not indicative of the service we strive to impart to each guest.

It has come to our attention that counterfeit coupons and tickets have been produced and are being issued outside of our theme park and authorized vendors.

Unfortunately these counterfeit coupons and tickets will not be accepted by Universal Studios Hollywood and we apologize that it appears you and your party were victims of this fraudulent use of materials.

Please be assured that Universal Studios Hollywood is working effortlessly to locate and identify any and all locations that may have obtained these counterfeit materials and we are taking the necessary actions to have these materials removed.

If you have the address or general location of the Burger King where you obtained these coupons, we would greatly appreciate if you could provide that information to us to help us aid in our efforts to resolve this incident.

Comments like yours play an important part in improving our park, and we will keep your feedback in mind as we review our policies to continually improve the guest experience.
