Once again, Yes, Another rip-off.
A young man shows up at my door and says he's selling magazines. He said his name was "Miles" as written on the receipt he gave to me. But, According to him, He goes by "Dakota". Which, ironically enough, is where he said he was from.
Trying to sell enough magazines to get enough points for a trip to Cancun, He was very nice, polite, smooth talking, nicely dressed young man. This purchase was back in July '08, So I asked my daughter which book she wanted, for $59.00 for two years.
After choosing the desired magazine, I wrote a check and ofcourse, same thing with some complaints, About when the book comes there would be a $13.00 fee, etc.
One month went by and soon i began to get suspicious, I called the number on the receipt, Again, Ofcourse, There was no answer. Well after the third month came and went, I decided to write a letter, sent copies to "Universal Subscription Agency" and it was sent back days later saying the "Box was closed" and was unable to forward it.
My suspicion was confirmed. I blew my top and had my daughter get on the internet, which she found "SuperPages.com" and this site, "RipoffReport.com" with similar descriptions of my situation along with an address and phone number for "Universal Subscription Agency".
Naturally, Me and my daughter tried calling the number, again, no answer. I was surprised to see that this company ripped off others, but the story remains the same.
Any other times, I order Magazines, Books, etc, And if I don't receive them, I call and they come within a week at the most. This time, Calling and Writing to "Universal Subscription Agency" got me nothing, Leaving me $59.00 short.
I agree with some of the other complaints. I'll never see the $59.00 or the magazines. But next time, "Buyer Beware" if there should be a next time. I'll know next time, Just go to the store and buy the magazine, because you know you'll get it.
Thank you,
Another Person who got ripped off from "Universal Subscription Agency".

Was "Miles" about 5'9", shaved head, stocky build, possible goatee?
