RUN, do not walk, away from here. This is a scam to sell you mediocre headshots and acting classes. The signs were all there. Dirty, gross, out-of-date office. I noticed that the vast majority of the headshots on the wall were very similar, with the same background. I went in to talk to talk to the guy, he explained the whole business, etc. Okay, maybe everything is legit. NOT. He looks at my headshot (which is gorgeous, by the way), and tells me that I need new ones. He shows me some examples: all just like the ones in the waiting room. They were pretty awful, too, they look like high school yearbook photos from the 80's. For only $500, I get 30 pictures taken, and I get prints of the best one! WHAT A DEAL! Ugh. I explain I'm not interested. Then, he starts with acting classes. I'm not really interested, I've already taken tons of acting classes with really good teachers, and I already have a coach anyway, and an acting degree. Then, he takes out time sheets from people he allegedly represents, so he can show me how much money I can make. This TOTALLY rubbed me the wrong way, because the names and social security numbers were not marked out! I could have stolen 5 or 6 identities if I wanted to, easily. Then he basically tells me that he'd like to work with me, but he can only work with me if I take his classes and use his head shots.
What a scam. Feel free to contact him if you'd love to spend a ton of money on bad headshots, crappy acting classes, and share your personal information.

KARA, KARA, clearly, clearly does not understand the acting industry at all!!!
She would comprehend that u absolutely NEED photos and acting classes to further your career as an actor(one does not want to do extra work forever).
I saw her pics, they stink, this why she will never go anywhere in the industry.
If You have any ambition in this industry u need to always have updated pics and hone your acting abilties. Even the celebraties have continuing education. Anyone in their field, must always stay on top of their game, in any industry.
SO RUN, Don't walk TO universal talent. they r the best. and they have been serving the industry for years. They have represented me for 10 years. And they always got me work. Because of them, I am in sag, and have done speaking parts.

Jeannine clearly does not know the details of the business, or is lying. Since my experience at Universal Talent, I have been working through two other agencies. As an extra. AND EXTRAS DO NOT NEED ACTING LESSONS EITHER WAY. You're basically a living breathing prop as an extra, and anyone can do it. It's just following simple instructions.
And you know what? I got my SAG vouchers, and I'm a SAG extra now. I've worked about fifteen jobs since then, and I've never paid for an agency's acting lessons. I'm still working with those headshots that the guy from Universal didn't like. I have not spent a CENT to start my extra "career" (aside from the small 15% commission that my current agencies charge from my paychecks). A legit agent won't have acting lessons in house, or try to sell you those laughably bad headshots.

Nothing is free... You need pictures, You need acting classes, and You need representation. If kara has had "tons" of acting classes, then why is she not in the sag union yet? Universal talent has placed more people in the sag union then any agency out there. The coach is renoun, and teaches in the best schools in manhatten.
She needs to do further research before she spreads lies, that border on slander.
