Universal Talent scammed me out of 1,000 plus dollars.. They promised me work on movies that they never even had ins with.. They also presurred me right there on the spot to leave money as a deposit for headshots and acting classes i didnt even need because they have NEVER gotten anyone a role in anything. Jim and John are a sleezy kind of con-artists they prey on the elderly and unfortunate people looking for some hope.
THEY ALSO LIE ABOUT OTHER TALANT AGENCIES...
There acting classes are a joke.. They consist of no acting coach just a bunch of fellow people who got ripped-off like me reading a book back and forth to one another..
THERE HEADSHOTS ARE A TOTAL SCAMM "THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS RIGHT NEXT DOOR" AND MY 13 YEAR OLD SON COULD TAKE BETTER PICTURES THAN THAT..
All the headshots look the same as the other...
I cant belive i fell for thier scamm!!!

I know it is very short notice for work when they call because they are given short notice when i get a call from universal talent i have a pen in hand and i am ready to work. the next morning
I am one of the lucky ones because i do not have to make arrangments for other work or childcare ect. last friday i got a call for a law&order extra job i was very excited.
the job was for monday morning 6 :30 check in in NYC I had to take a bus from jersey into the city at 5:00 am. take the subway at 6 am to be on location by 630 it was a 12 hour day my scheduale allows me to be flexable john and Jim are not con artist.
i am reliable and flexable so i am available on short notice. this is part time work and 3 weeks went by were there was no work for me i am middle age and white brown hair blue eyes ect. so i am not going to get picked for everyjob no matter how eager or reliable i am working this sunday that how this work is.
The acting classes are just to see can i project my personaility to a room full of people. I am representing that agency they have to see how i interact with a director and others. my pitures are current and is part of their files that they are able to send out on short notice and my picture is on there website www.universaltalentagency.com

I 'registered' with this company several years ago, they took a polaroid for their files, and asked for $20.00. Then, after that they wanted $800. for head shots and $1200 for acting lessons, this mind you for $50-100 a day as background?
I declined and heard nothing till the other day when I answered a craigslist ad and they responded.
I explained I was registered and had never gotten work? The individual snapped if I were in fact registered with them I would have gotten 'lots' of work?
The fact is I did register I told him and still had the reciept. End of conversation right?
Listen folks, we are in a new age, Polaroid announced they will no longer make the film for these cameras, any body in this business who asks for head shots in the age of Kodak-Easy Share and all the rest?
Well? lets just say I have a hand crank in the garage for them to start their car with hmmmmm?
