Uniway Of Columbia WARNING TO ALL ripoff West Columbia South Carolina

We were contacted by "Ted" at Uniway to come in for a tour of the "showroom". We were promised 2 free gifts just for coming. The tour was supposed to take an hour. We were there for at least 2 hours. There were 2 other sets of people in our group. After the tour, Daniel (our slick,fast talking,and funny salesperson)split us up and began the hard sell. They wanted a mere $3195. for a membership to their buying club. If we had bad credit they would finance us for 24% a month.

When we told him we were not interested, Daniel became indignant and said,"Do you want to pay retail for the rest of your life?" We were like,"whatever" and made a beeline for the door. The "gifts" that we received were a worthless $500. on line shopping spree(all you pay is shipping which is about what each junk product is worth)and a $30. voucher for dinner which was supposed to be filled out by our representative...never filled out.

I am sad to say that I believe a young, obviously struggling single mom was taken in by all this. I wonder if this qualifies as predatory lending practices. It should be illegal.
