Amazing people!  Amazing product!

I personally work with Shane and Jennifer Bohannon at Unplugged Concepts, and have for 3 years, and I want to say that all the defamatory statements that some idiot wrote about their company and them is downright WRONG!!!!

They are great people, and they have helped so many people in so many ways!  With vacations through Gold Crown Resort  ***Which is A+ Rated with the Better Business Bureau***, and are really fun and amazing people to be around!

It is really sad that one stupid ex employee who couldn't keep his job has filed with Rip Off Report----What a loser!

Get a job, get a life, and leave them alone!

#1 UPDATE Employee ..inside information

False review.. Written by owner

AUTHOR: Okomay - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 06, 2014

I worked at Unplugged Concepts for a few months, longer than most workers who come and go, and would like to point a few things out. Some things I list will definitely upset the CEOs... Some things are good, but it's all the truth.

I know for a fact that the person who wrote this review did NOT work as an employee for Unplugged Concepts. It is most likely either Shane Bohannon or Jennifer Bohannon. Unplugged Concepts hires contractors from week to week basis. Their average employee retention is between a week to a couple months, but this employee claims to have been working for them for 3 Years, which is impossible. Unplugged Concepts wasn't even around 3 years ago... And I don't know a single person who has been with them from the beginning that is still there, other than the owners, Shane and Jennifer.

Shane and Jennifer were very frustrated when the first bad review showed up, but found out Ripoff Report doesn't remove reports, just allows arbitration. So this raving review they wrote, where they're claiming to be a senior employee, they hoped would help alleviate potential client concerns by speaking highly of themselves. So here I am, a real former employee, who resigned on somewhat good terms to pursue a career that fits my passions.

Facts: Neither Unplugged Concepts nor Gold Crown Resorts is accredited with the BBB, although they're not obligated to seek accreditation, as the BBB will still give ratings. Gold Crown does have an A+ rating, the complaints they got to the BBB were resolved. Unplugged Concepts has an A- rating, and they too resolved two complaints to the BBB. Shane Bohannon cares a lot about his BBB rating and wants it to stay at an A. I do know of some dissatisfied clients who were told they signed a legally binding contract, and I don't know if they ever got refunds... But there are also many satisfied with the Gold Crown Resort Membership. After the initial sign up and fee with Unplugged Concepts, most clients discontinue contacting Unplugged Concepts, which makes sense since the company is just a marketer to get you to enroll in the travel club for Gold Crown, and start booking their own vacations via the Gold Crown website directly.

If you do have an issue that isn't getting resolved in other ways, you can get in touch with Shane through the BBB by filing a complaint against Unplugged Concepts, and I'm almost entirely sure they will work to resolve it to keep a good rating. Of course, you should try contacting them directly first.

From what I saw, issues arise for two reasons.

One, although the Bohannons do have a good product they're selling, their tactics can come across as sneaky and catch many people off guard. It would help if the tactics were more straight forward, if people could feel more at ease and be able to think it over instead of being rushed into the decision to buy in only an hour or two after meeting the sales team. It's a take it now or leave it deal.. No thinking it over later... Which often puts people off, but finding an alternate strategy to market and sell their product would mean completely changing the way the company runs.

Second reason: People should really take into consideration what they want, and what they can afford. If you know you can't afford to pay several thousand dollars for a membership to the Gold Crown website, and you won't have the time or money to book vacations listed on the site and take advantage of the membership, then simply don't sign up for it. People need to read before signing documents, and ask questions. Don't let yourself make that impulse commitment if you're going to slip into debt by your own ignorance... There are financing options available, but just be sure you will use it, and you want it. Don't blame the company for your choice to buy on impulse, knowing you couldn't afford it or wouldn't use it.

I hope this helped at least a few people. Though they're not always honest with their potential clients and employees, they're also not trying to con you, they're just trying to make a living. Shane and Jennifer are sales people through and through, so just look at it as it is, a sales proposition that can be a wonderful investment if you have the time,  money, and understanding of the product.
