 I have a personal injury case against Farmers Insurance / 21st Century where their elderly insured ran a stop sign and collided into my front wheel as I was traveling in the far right lane at the speed limit. I required only 5-6 weeks of physical therapy for my lower back, and two rounds of injections. Meds were $2,000. They refused to settle for less than $1,700 total. They don't care about people being in pain, or making it easier on costs by scheduling physical therapy near or at the end of your work day. They pulled every maneuver known to man to try and delay payment (refused mediation, arbitration, etc.). When we did have to file a lawsuit, they told us they represent the client but would not accept service on her behalf. We would have to find and personally serve her. I was finally successful in having her served by Default, and a couple years later during discovery, they attorney finally admits to us (not the court), that the Defendant has actually been deceased for 3 years prior to the notification. And on the way out of court near this time he laughingly offered $500 to settle the whole matter. I don't know how these a**holes even look at themselves in the mirror. We are currently set for a JURY TRIAL (which they demanded and got), but they keep finding a way to continue it. The only witness in the trial will be me. And they have no statement from any witness to state anything different from what I know. I guess they will try and confuse the jury with my deposition somehow. I am a non-practicing attorney, and work at Family Court, and have never seen or dealt with more unethical attorneys in my life.
