Craigslist scam listed by Melissa Noran for English Bulldog puppies costing $400 each.  $50 was sent as a deposit after much questioning, confirmation, and discussion.  Money requested to be sent to a Michelle King, supposedly Melissa's daughter.  Money was received and once it came time to "ship the supposed puppy", an african male contacted me both via email and phone.  Email below: 

Hello Madam Katie 

Sorry the conversation on phone was not clear . we have made arrangements for delivery and we realized the shipping crate brought for the transportation of your puppy was unhealthy and not suitable for transporting the puppy . Our experts propose you rent a crate from us which include a refundable insurance package . The fee costs $580 and the sum of $540 is refundable upon arrival of the puppy at your home . 

We are sorry for the inconveniences caused but we have faced problems before and sued because pets arrived sick due to bad transport crates so we designed this insurance and pet transport crate policy . 

We hope you understand and we are complaining to you because you are now the legal owner of the puppy since the sender signed all papers to withdraw ownership . as concerns the health of your puppy . he is in great shape .

I refused to make the payment and Melissa claimed to not have the money and was "in tears" after being told that if we did not come to some sort of agreement, the puppy would be placed in a shelter.  I was also told that a transaction that was made with Melissa and this company 6 months prior involving a horse went successfully.  Both Melissa and the male seemed persistent in me not being able to pay directly as the company was "being audited" and that I should send the money to the family via money gram or western union and they would make the payment and we could mpve forward.  The african male stated "it was that simple and that I was making it complicated."  Naturally, I refused to make the payment and wished to end the process.  Both the male and family were not happy, but did not proceed to try and convince me.  I then asked for my original $50 back from Melissa who expressed anger and then stopped contacting me back.  I let her know I would be reporting her and the company as she was s thief and I did not wish for them to continue doing this to other innocent people.
