This company is fraudulent and dishonest. I wanted to cancel my "no-hassel" month to month membership in April. After several un-returned phone calls to manager, Brittany, regarding what I needed to do to cancel, I went into to gym to see if I could get some answers in person. Nope! Either she doesn't exist or she never works because again I was told she was unavailable. I was told by another employee that if I wanted to cancel I had to do so in writing. So I typed up a cancellation letter and hand delivered it to the gym with hopes of maybe being able to speak to Brittany. Brittany again wasn't available, and I should have known that the high school girls working at the front desk had no clue, but they told me they would pass on my letter to management.
I called the next day to make sure my cancellation had been processed and was told if I did it in writing it should be into the system by the next billing cycle. After seeing they charged my credit card the following month, I canceled the card, thinking I was not on a yearly contract, only month to month, therefore I owed them nothing. I was told with a month to month contract, that I could cancel at any time; no questions asked. I should have known better, but I thought I had made a good faith effort to cancel. I could never get a straight answer or a call back.
After several months passed I received a call from Paramount Acceptance (their billing company) saying I owed almost $400 in back membership fees. When I told the PA guy that I had canceled he said they had no record of my cancellation. So let me get this straight... I supposedly had a no obliged contract, yet they continued to bill me after I canceled my membership, and credit card. This place is such a scam. I have contacted a lawyer in Omaha, and am looking into a class action lawsuit. There have been suits filed in Ohio and Kentucky (Do a google search if you're interetsed)... Anyone in Omaha want to jump on the wagon?

I have no idea how to get out of this membership. I have been trying to cancel since June 2011, and have not used there services since then. They rejected my letter, and Brittany has ignored my calls. I hope this company gets sued to say the least.. currently I am getting billed over $200 for fees and unused service.. are they that desperate to make money? I need help
