I finally had enough of US banks schemes to take my hard earned money. I dont know exactly how much they have scammed me out of in the past few years, but it is a very significant amount to me! The last time I overdrew, the item in question was not even authorized for automatic monthly withdrawl. I tried unsuccessfully to resolve this with US bank and it is like talking to the wall. I gave in because I needed to maintain a bank account. Right after speaking with the US bank csr I went to my local branch to pay the overdraft fees and in the mean time they wanted to charge me an additional $37.50 because the same transaction that I was disputing in the first place was resubmitted. I was angry and decided not to give them anything. Due to the fact that they would not close my account

I started incurring $7. a day fee. They have since turned me over to one of their very rude collection agencys who are demanding that I pay $650. This was all over a supposedly $16. overdraft.

I have spent the last couple of days on this website (ripoffreport.com) and some of the many other websites, from doing a google search on US bank complaints. You could spend a lifetime doing this, literally. The more I learn about US bank the madder I get. I have also been ripped off by these thieves and so I know that the people making these complaints are telling the truth. One of the things that really bothers me is where do all of these rebuttals that defend US bank come from? From the writing style, it looks like the same couple of people are responsible for most of the rebuttals. It kind of makes you wonder who they are, and what their motivation is. I can not believe for one minute that any decent human being would stand up and defend a bank that is destroying peoples lives and causing untold grief to so many low income individuals. This has absolutely nothing to do with balancing check books or just plain being stupid, as many of the so called rebutalists claim, but has everything to do with greed, lying, cheating, manipulating and spineless tactics. Finally, with all the evidence on corruption the  US government just had to do something about abusive bank practices and thanks to senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut for having the backbone to stand up for whats right, US bank will be forced to stop most of the tactics used in their overdraft scams,

So, US bank will have to find other ways to ripoff the American people like forclosures and such. They are very good at this, they have a large staff of so called lawyers with nothing better to do than to look for ways  to create loopholes to line their pockets.

Also there is a class action lawsuit that I just found by doing a google search usbank overdrafts Starting at the top and working down to branch managers, we need to see more of these corporate thieves going to prison!  So far nothing has really been done to punish those responsible. They look at low balance accounts as a nuisance, and if they cant make money off of you, you have no value to them. So what that means, is that if you are maintaining a low balance account and never give them the opportunity to find an excuse to steal your money, they have no use for this nuisance account! (it is really hard for a low income person to get a comfortable on their account balance when US bank steals the money faster than they can put it in) Now they will look for creative ways to take what little money you do have, because they know you are low income and have no recourse and do not have the resourses to even begin to even think about taking legal action, its like taking candy from a baby, they have this what are you going to do about it attitude And it must really make them laugh when one of their low income victims threatens to close their account and take it elsewhere, because if you are not making them money, they do not want your business in the first place!! This is why they target  the poor, and, they will continue with this because they think that they have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain and they are right (banks steal 38 billion dollars annually this way) As far as I am concerned I would have more respect for US bank if they robbed me at gunpoint than the spineless, cowardly way of robbing people without even having to look them in the face. And as a veteran I am insulted that they put US in their corporate name. This is not what The United States stands for and employees of US bank should be ashamed! 68% of this money is taken from  5% of the Americans who are the least able to deal with this kind of financial disaster, do the math, there are 300 million Americans 5% of that is 15 million and 68% of that is a whole lot of money. Add to that the stress (late fees from legit bills) of what kind of a burden this puts on a family that is just trying to get by and it is devastating. How many people were made homeless by US bank? I dont know, but I have a feeling that the number is shocking!

There is so much more to say about this bank, they certainly do not like the truth and are very quick to silence opposition. Websites like http://www.usbanksucks.com/ and http://www.5starscrewed.com/ were quickly shut down by US bank lawyers. Does anyone out their know how those of us that have made complaints can get together and compare our notes etc. and do more to publicize the crimes of US bank and get some sort of justice? Cooperate likew lambs to the slaughter.

I have been on both sides...

AUTHOR: CAGAL - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Okay, here's the deal - I have been on both sides here.

When I was young, broke & irresponsible, it was always the bank's fault that I was overdrawn.  Why didn't they tell me I was overspending?  Why didn't they tell me I had no money in the bank?   They're stealing my money, they're corrupt.  Etc, etc.

I am proud to say that I have finally figured it out.  Now I work off of cash, keep track of my bank account, live within my means, and don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses. Somehow, my bank account magically reflects this sense of maturity, responsibility & savviness, and I haven't had an overdraft charge or problem in quite a long time.

It's quite simple, people.  Don't run your card for 1.50 coffee, keep a check register, live within your means, work off of cash, & budget your money, and the banks can't "rob, steal from & abuse" you.  They love broke people who can't manage their money.  It's their bread & butter.

Why don't you Blame the Right People

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 15, 2009

If a charge from a company caused the overdraft, then you should be going after that company and not the Bank for any Overdraft charges that were caused by the charge.

You need to file a claim with the bank if there was a fraudulent charge and it sounds like you would rather just blame the bank rather than do the required work to go to the company that CAUSED it.

Also, why all the other overdraftes? Sounds like you want the bank to be your free slush fund because you won't keep a register and not spend money that you don't have. US Bank or any other bank is not in the business to loan you free money.
