On Friday, August 5th I went to the location at 62W 47th St, Room 604. I went into a booth that had a teller's window in it. They took all my gold an weighed it on a scale 99% of the gold was 14K. (6.9 DWT was 10K and 8.9 DWT was 18K). All together it weighed 118.6DWT on their scale.
The receipt showed that it will be melted & assayed; 118.6DWT; London Price $1,658.71 ounce.
I waited about 2 hours.
They called me back into the booth and showed me their report. The report stated that it actually weighed 116.8DWT NOT the 118.6.
The "report" also stated that the 14k (.585) was assayed at .5367 which represents 91.74%.
In other words the report showed that my 14K was 12.8K. WHAT A FREAKING RIPOFF.
I can understand if it were 13.5 or maybe even 13.4, but 12.8!!! No way.
That's where they get you. The assay report is a lie. It's the old bait and switch.
They took me for between $350.00 - $500.00.
Their scale in the booth: 118.6
Their assay scale: 116.8
If anyone goes to this place they deserve to get ripped off. Someone should put these people behind bars. "Never Again"!
