My family was looking for a puppy and was given a website to go look for breeders or puppies up for adoption in your local area.  I found one listed in my area and contacted them via the internet as instructed.  A day later I received a response that they had 4 puppies left and needed me to answer several questions first.  I answered the questions and they seemed delighted to have us adopt one of their puppies.  Unfortunately they just relocated out of state but would have the puppy shipped to us all for only $500.

I agreed but the $500 had to be paid to the shipping company in a specific reloadable credit card.  Once I did that, there just happened to be "refundable" fee of $2,550 for insurance on the dog before they could ship it.  I refused to pay it because I didn't have that kind of money.  The owner felt "bad" and agreed to pay half the cost for me.  Against my better judgement, I paid the amount via Western Union.  The puppy was to be delivered the next day.  The next day rolled around and I received an email saying that the dog didn't pass vaccination inspection and they needed another "refundable" amount of $1,500.  I did not pay any of that amount.

We never received a puppy and I learned a very valuable lesson.

Hi, My name is Brianna and as I have been looking for a frugal price on a puppy i came across a few at $400 each. After doing thurough research into this low price and why and asking all the right questions and then researching the company offered for shipping the adorable little golden retreiver I had so wanted, it turns out that the exact scam (with the same wording I might add) that you mentioned here is still going on via what I found of 3 different phone numbers and 3 different email addresses. I need to know any more information you have as far as police follow up or anything you may have found out. I am trying to find these people and bust them immidiately. I am glad I found this article before putting money into the situation but im quite sure that this wont stop any time soon. Please get back to me. my email is (((redacted))) Thank you and have a lovely day.
