U.S. Wushu Academy; United States Wushu Academy; USWA; Educational Funding Company; EFC Associated with the notorious Educational Funding Company Fairfax Virginia

The U.S. Wushu Academy (USWA) planned relocation from its Falls Church facility to the Fairfax facility on November 2012.

In reality, the facility was reopened, four months later, on March 22, 2013. During the off-time we checked the new location a couple times but no one seemed to be there and, in lieu of communication from the USWA, eventually we gave up on the idea of continuing our training there.

On March 27, 2013 the USWA sent an email to the students announcing that the facility was reopened on March 22, 2013.

Soon after receiving the email, we called the office to let them know that due to the prolonged inactivity we decided to cancel our participation and, per their request, sent an accompanying email with a cancellation note.

Although the cancellation note and the fact that we did not receive any services from the school, we were charged fees on February, March, and April. The charges appeared on our credit card report under peculiar names that varied from month to month. After successfuly disputing the charges with the Credit Company, we receivied delinquent notices from Educational Funding Company (EFC), which we were not aware of its existence until that point.

The behavior of USWA along this case could be excused as a mistake, but the strange affiliation of USWA with the notorious EFC, the nation-wide distribution of complaints against EFC, and the disputable nature of EFC's conduct *, suggest that USWA may not acted in good faith.
