While I do think that Usana has HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS I do not agree with the way in which it is sold. I have taken their products. I now use another high quality product which I have the freedom to choose when I get it and not through an autoship. I have done hours of research on many different products.

I always had a problem with the business side of things and I was very sad to hear that there have been resume issues with some of their science team.
To hear that Tim Woods actually had a doctorate in forestry and not biology was pretty bad. We are dealing with human lives and not plants here.
Once there is a smear and questions...well mud tends to stick after that.

The business side was offered to me on many occasions.
That was until I read the average Associate only makes about $700 to $800 a year in fine print in one of their fliers or magazines somewhere. It seems to me that their products could be sold in mainstream stores but then I guess their Diamond Directors would no longer receive their fat cat checks anymore.

I know I was told that Usana do not do mainstream as the mark up and the money should go back to the distributors but honestly when the average associate only makes $700 a year we know who is making all the money anyway (your upline way,way up there, that's who).

The people who make the big money in Usana have been there with this company from the ground up and everyone else is under them.
You are feeding their dreams.

It is the associates that keep Usana alive as the average money spent for 200 points a month for a 3 business center adds up from $220 to $300 a month depending on what you order and then you pay for shipping as well.

Most average working class families cannot afford that kind of expense every month, especially in our current economy. Health benefits? Yes, I have never doubted that but make the products more available to people in stores so we can buy them as we need too and not on a monthly autoship.
Just my 2 cents worth anyway.

Autoship is misunderstood

AUTHOR: Tj - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 28, 2009

I am also a Usana product user. I agree with many things you indicate about network marketing, however your understanding of Usana's autoship is not correct. The $100.00 or $200.00 autoship is for those doing the business that want to stay qualified for receiving commissions. If you are not doing the business you can order on your own, have an autoship of ANY amount and get the autoship discount. I have taken Usana products for a decade and I change my autoship EVERY month and skip a month whenever I need to for economical or product over-supply. It is as simple as logging in to their free website with your preferred customer number or associate number, then click on "autoship" and change or cancel whatever you would like. While on a Caribbean Cruise I forgot to cancel my autoship (no one home to take delivery), I simply called while on the ship and a minute later all was canceled and I was not charged one penny. They are a VERY professional company to purchase from.

Now, could the Usana products cost less if available in the store? They say no, but I believe they would be due to the extreme competition in vitamin supplements. Although, there is no match for Usana's quality, complete products. The same could be said for many Network Marketing products. I love Xocai (healthy chocolate), but on a pound per pound comparison with something close in health food stores, the Xocai is about three to thirty times the cost (but the Xocai is superior to the store brands). However, these companies claim they pay close to 50% of gross revenue to distributors and the companies are not enormously over-rich with what is left over. Basically, it would be approximately a 50% cost to distribute and provide mark-up for retailers.
