I recently discovered that USBI (aka Mainstreet Telephone) had jumped service onto my phone 2 years ago. I just assumed the high amount was taxes and fees, etc. but upon examination I found this company had been billing me $15.22 for over 2 years!

I contacted their customer service number and was told that I had added the service. I had NOT. Then, they asked me if I knew this person, and gave me he name of my son. They said he had purchased a phone card online, billing every month to my phone. The problem? My son was in prison long before the service started and still is. There is NOT internet access i the state prison!

When I explained this, I was told the only thing I could do was to email or send a letter. I did both, demanding the return of my money. Over two months later, I have gotten NO response.

I called the "customer service" number again today and spoke with "Troy". I asked him for the corporate number and was given the same old line about writing or sending an email. He said "Corporate does not answer phone calls." ???? Hello....can you smell the stink of this scam??? I told him to give me his supervisor.

He said he WAS the supervisor. I told him that he was not the company owner, so to give me the next person above him. Then, "Troy" hung up on me. I called back twice. I was hung up on twice. Apparently "Troy" is their one and only "Customer Assistance Representative." It was quite interesting that I got him with each and every phone call.

When I got online to try to find corporate information, all I can find is reports on this company! We need to do something to STOP these vultures, folks. If there is an attorney reading this, please help! Let's get this kind of thing stopped! And, companies like QWEST should be required to verify with the account holder that they infact ordered the services before they are added to someones account. This is fraudulent and we MUST hold the companies responsible who are billing us for these servies through their companies just because some fly by night told them we ordered it.

USBI/MAINSTREET IS A SCAM, FOLKS. CHECK YOUR PHONE BIL...YOU MAY WELL BE PAYING $15.22 EVERY MONTH AND NOT EVEN KNOW IT1
