I needed a temporary mail change. The way they have their website set up it makes it look like the USPS United States Postal Service Website, when in fact they use it is a rip-off. They charged me $20.00 to do a change of address, yes I fell for it, I thought it was excessive, but I was in a hurry leaving in a few days.
They use all of the trade mark signs of the real Postal Service. I turned them into the Post Master, and next I am going to the police department, please read carefully before you give this theif your money, his website looks very authentic. I went and closed my credit card account, it was a nightmare. Also the clerk at the post office has turned him in, I don't understand why he is allowed to continue his fraudulent business.
I also emailed him to complain, what a surprise I never heard back.
STAY AWAY HE MAYBE STEALING IDENTITY!!!

Easy people...

While I haven't and am not going to go look for this site to see how legit it looks, I would like to remind everybody that the op stated they were "in a hurry" when this took place.
You dont know the author's personal situation that would make them have to get a temporary change of address in a hurry. But being in a hurry is often related to stress and being stressed can often cause one to make mistakes.
It is true that people should be extra careful and read the fine print when dealing online. And I think the op should get credit for warning others about this. After all I think this site was created as a "consumers helping consumers" site and not a "consumers bashing other consumers who made a mistake" site.
I wonder if any of you guys have been "ripped off"?

Well, I went to the indicated site.
It took me all of 3 seconds to determine it was not a genuine USPS site.
And, there is no ripoff here.
The site clearly discloses they are NOT in any way affiliated with the USPS, and they give their actual registered business name.
All you had to do was stay awake and read!
Here is the info directly from the bottom of the main page of the site:
>>
The information provided in this site is not affiliated with the United States Postal Service, We are a filing service that facilitates the address change request process for its users. usps-change-address.com acts as an authorized agent for users wishing to file their address change request with the United States Postal Service. It was all very clear to me.
What's the problem?

I didn't see any USPS logos on that site, or anything else that indicated that it might be the real USPS. The bottom of the page says :
"The information provided in this site is not affiliated with the United States Postal Service"
The copyright notices also list a company called Change of Address, LLC.
While I agree it's silly to pay a 3rd party for a simple change of address, the site itself doesn't look anything like a real USPS site.

It doesnt help things when

The actual post office is telling you to go online to do a change of address now. Even when you show up in person and ask for a change of address form, they will try to refer online. All because they keep the real forms behind the counter now because they have coupons in them. You almost have to threaten violence to get one.
I was lucky, I found an online site that wanted to charge a dollar. I even thought that was kindof fishy so I called up the post office and they said "yeah its a dollar" I said "its free if I come and get the form right" they said yes so I went in and demanded my form.
Demand and get your form even if you have to go postal!
