DO NOT DEAL WITH VACANCIES ONTARIO!!

They are a bunch of lying cheating scam artists!

My husband and I approached them for renting an apartment after seeing their ad's on various renters site stating really cheap apartments for rent all over Canada. When I called them to inquire about these so called listings they asked me come to the office. I should have known something was fishy then since this was the first time a rental agency had asked for me to come in without giving me any indication of the listings. Anyway, we went and met with their customer service office in Etobicoke. There we were given the big blow - pay $220 deposit to get the listings!! My husband and I were really skeptical but the lady assured us that this was just a deposit and if we didn't find anything through them we would get our money back. Since we were running short of time we decided to pay with the assurance (we made her confirm it again) that we would get the money back after the two week time frame if we didn't rent from them.

It took them three days to give me the listings and that also after I chased them for it. However, by the time the listings came I was already in talks with other rental companies since we really were in a hurry to rent something soon. PLUS, the listings were useless as it only gave me address and contact number of the landlord which meant in order to find out more about the apartment I had to call each and every one of them. How ridiculous is that!! WHY PAY THEM WHEN I'M DOING ALL THE WORK??? I called 5 landlords and not a single one called me back! This was a BOGUS list in my opinion.

That same week I rented an apartment with Capreit and on doing so I logged a request for my refund. I was told I had to wait two weeks to apply for the refund. Which i did and then reappllied. Again I was told I had to wait two weeks for the request to be processed. Which I did! And now I receive a letter from the company stating that THERE WILL BE NO REFUND SINCE THEY PROVIDED THE SERVICE WHICH THEY PROMISED WHICH WAS GIVING ME THE LISTINGS! Whattt???? That is not what they said when I met with them! I asked in very clear terms about the refund and I was told I would get it back if I didn't rent through them!! And now this is their response??? If that was the case then why make me wait a month and THEN tell me this??? they should have just said this when I first applied for the refund!! The reason they didn't is because THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATERS AND SCAMMERS!!

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! IF I CAN SAVE EVEN ONE PERSON FROM THEM I WOULD CONSIDER THAT WELL WORTH IT ALL!
