IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A VACATION FROM VACATION NETWORK INC (VNI), PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!!

I bought 7 one week vacations from these scam artists thinking it would be great for my family to spend some time together. I called them later the same day after I realized I had made a mistake buying this and they added 8 more vacations for 1/2 price, but they would not give me my money back. I thought at this price, it would be an ok deal.

We signed up and got a cheesy little packet that was supposed to have all the information needed to choose from locations they had around the world. It basically included 1 sheet that you send in to them and a extremely vague booklet that listed the peak times for the area that you are going to (which is pretty much 9-12 months out of the year). You have to send it in 90 days ahead of time and you have to list 3 locations and three different dates you would be willing to go. You also have to send in an $89 processing fee. AND you have to send in $175 to upgrade to a 2 bedroom. AND you have to send in $140 if it is a peak time. AND it costs $300 a year (or more, they decide) for a maintenance fee. What a freaking scam.

This was supposed to include 1 week at a condo for 4 people, or for an extra $175, you could upgrade to a 2 bedroom. I told them that I had 5 people in my family and that they could all comfortably stay in a single bedroom condo and they assured me that that would be ok. Once I got the packet and they found out I had 5 people going (you have to list that on the paper you send in), they told me I had to pay the extra $175/trip to upgrade even though I didn't need the extra room.

But after all of this, they totally suck at finding you a condo. I sent in my form, called them and told them where I wanted to go and gave them an area to pick from where I had stayed with them before, and they have yet to call me back. I've stayed with them twice and both times I had to wait to just a few weeks before we were leaving to find out if I even got the condo and where it was. I could get online myself and book a condo for a week in about 15 minutes for less than they are charging me.

Then, to add insult to injury, they sent me a letter recently (because so many people were complaining about their service) that said they would give me money back to cancel my vacation package (minus the fees for my remaining vacations) or I could double the number of vacations that I already have. When I called to cancel, they told me it would ACTUALLY COST ME MONEY to get out of my contract because the fees that I owe on it are more than my vacation is worth!! I'm glad I was talking on the phone and not to a live person because I might have strangled her. All I would like is 1/2 of my money back.

DON'T BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!

I Love Vacation Network Incorporated, Never had a problem!

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 25, 2008

I bought a vacation package from this company about three years ago and have never had a hard time planning my vacations. I have been to places that I have always wanted to go to, and Vacation Network Incorporated has helped me fulfill my dreams. I would just like to state that this company can help you go on vacation for less, but you as the owner of the package must be willing to do your part. The contract clearly states all of the rules and regulations, and if you follow them carefully, you will be vacationing happily. They are clear about the need for flexibility, because no company can guarantee space availability. The resorts themselves are the ones that define peak seasons and space availability. Also, regarding the upgrade to a 2 bedroom or three bedroom, it is clearly stated in the contract that an upgrade requires more money. Vacation Network Incorporated has been more than willing to meet my vacationing needs and desires, and I"m sure that they will continue to help me go on dream vacations for the rest of my life!

DID YOU EVEN READ THE CONTRACT, ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION IS BACKWARDS..

AUTHOR: Mindy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 29, 2007

You went to a presentation, signed a contract agreeing to all the terms and conditions, then feeling buyers remorse, you want to cancel, but then agree to more vacation weeks. How does this make us a scam?? All of the information that you needed to use this program was given to you. 1) The contract itself plainly states how the program works, with any rules or regulations that you need to follow. 2) Our website was printed plainly on the back cover of the Vacation Planner Booklet you received. This also broke down high demand and low demand areas. Specific areas are not listed because most people know where they want to travel, they don't have to be told or led somewhere. Note: the high demand and low demand months are taken from the resorts themselves, and frankly most of them are high demand all year round, but we have made it so there are low demand months for our clients. 3) Submitting a request in advance is not just 90 days, low demand is 60 days, holidays are 180. We ask you list 3 different locations or dates in case your 1st choice is not availible. And the fees are as follows: $89 processing, $175 for high demand/prime season, $140 for extra bedroom, and an Annual Service Charge. All of this is listed plainly in the contract(all font is the same size by the way), and you signed it, agreeing. You even signed the Consumer Disclosurer Questionnaire which reiterates main points of the contract. But we are a scam?? It is explained at all sales presentations that the condos will sleep 4 adults comfortably, for $140 you can upgrade to a second bedroom, not $175. Our sales people would not have assured you that 5 people can stay in a 1 bedroom, because it is from the resorts themselves that we can only allow 4, based on fire regulations and restrictions. 4) The contract also states that all reservation requests are based upon space availability. We do not make any warranties or guarantees as to space availability in any particular resort. Now, the letter you received from our company does not state "we would give your money back to cancel your vacation package minus the fees for your remaining vacations". This letter stated plainly you may cancel, and receive a refund of a specific percentage of your purchase price or total amounts paid into the program. Any deductions are from either the membership fees or Annual Service Charge not being paid in full. Where do you get it will cost you money because the fees that you owe on it are more than your vacation is worth?? What is that?? It's understandable now why you feel we are a scam, you don't understand what your reading. This letter was sent to you on a voluntary basis, we did not have to send it or make this offer to you, actually the contract you signed states that it cannot be cancelled. Please contact our office, and we will verify the cancellation of your account and notification of our billing company.
