Purchased a car from this dealer on 2/20/16 for my son and by the time I got home my dash board let up like a christmas tree. The Engine light and both air bag lights were on so I toke the car to pepboys on 2/21/16 to have it looked at and found that it needed brakes all the way around and rotors and the oil was black so I had that changed. The second mechanic from Quailty Auto said it also needed front bearing and the computer showed about 4 or 5 codes. Both mechanics also said the code history was reset or erased and I needed to drive the car to make the codes come back up so I did drive it to work on 2/22/16.
When I arrived home, I relized the brake lights were not working and neither was the horn. First off this dealer let us drive off that property with nothing working properly and my son could have been in an accident with the negligence of this guy. I called this guy(Petro) up 2/22/16 and explained that he would need to pick this car up because it is unsafe to drive and I also wanted my money back. Instead of addressing my concerns he went on the defensive. He soon turned me over to his boss who"s name was willey and he began to tell me that because the air bag light is on, thats why the horn is not working and I would not have to pay for anything because its a dealer recall. First off these guys reset engine lights on the cars and that is illegal. I heard Petro on the phone the day I purchased car telling another employee he had to reset the engine light on another car.Alot of dealers encluding Vaccaro Moters have these handheld computer to reset the car's computers and they do not have a shop on their property,so why do they need them. They are scamming people and it needs to stop. Another problem was this guy (Petro) was very eger to sell me a $600 Warrenty for that junk hep he sold me. Then he would of said I must use my warrenty for those repairs that they already knew about...Another dealer Scam. So I had the car towed back to dealer then I called for Hasbrouck heights police depart and explained to them that a theft accurred so I could have a police report to back up my story about car not having horn or brake lights. When I called dispather and when spoke to officer's i had a sense that they knew about these PIRATES.... I WANT A REFUND.....I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM YOU WHEN YOU TRIED TO ROB ME>>>>CRIMMINALS>>>I WILL ASK YOU CROOKS 1 MORE TIME BEFORE I GET THE DMV INVOLVED.....THEY WILL SEND AND INVESTIGATOR

Scamming people by resetting the engine light on cars. These people are crazy.....Telling me that its my fault basically, that I purchased the vehicle. I tell you one thing, I may have dropped the ball that day but I would of seen that engine light on that you reset and I would of walked away from that purchase. Petro who I strongly believe is the boss has some guy by the name of willey to call me (The voice of reason) and act like he is the boss of this low down operation. He explains that petro has limited powers from there corporate office so he was stepping in to help. But three days later which was 3/3/16 I spoke to the secretary imun she did not know this willy guy as a boss and she also had no ideal about a corporate office. My Point.......These people are liars and they are Scammers.....How do you list a car for sale in it doesn't have a horn nor operating brake lights. Also this shady dude petro takes your money and you never see him again. I had this vehicle for 2 days and I wanted my money back because it couldn't be driven.......Now it has to be towed everywhere it goes.....You sir are Scum!!!!!!......Beware.....More to come.....

"Resetting stored codes is not Illegal"
WRONG (with a qualifier, Codes can be cleared after repairs are made, not in this case)
All Jurisdictions in North America it is Against the law to "Steal by Deception" Also Known as fraud. Applies to this case as serious safety and mechanical issues were not disclosed as part of the sale.
Most Jurisdictions specifically list hiding faults or knowingly selling faulty consumer goods without full disclosure of the faults as fraud.
Any Jurisdiction not making it a Felony to sell a vehicle with a faulty airbag system (With out Proper Disclosure) is a place no one should willingly live.
Where I live the Used car dealer must have a full safety inspection done and disclose all safety faults. A Mechanic signing an inspection form and not including all faults is Liable to prosecution and loss of Mechanics Licence.

You have no way of knowing if the warning lights were reset by the dealer or by the person that sold them the car. Resetting the warning lights is not illegal unless it was done to intentionally conceal problems with the vehicle.
How did the horn and brake lights perform during the pre-purchase inspection?
You may have been scammed but your claim of theft is untrue. Thanks for wasting police resources for your civil issues.
Was this an as-is sale or what are the terms of the written warranty? Your report implies you opted out of the warranty purchase.

Knowingly resetting engines lights before a customer buys a vehicle is illegal......IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MECHENIC SHOP!!!!! WHY DO YOU NEED A SCANNER VACCARO MOTORS INC!!!!. And if I would have seen that engine light on I would of walked away. But I did not because you reset the computer. I HAD THREE MECHINCS LOOK AT THIS CAR.....TWO OF the 3 Said HISTORY WAS RESET. And further more they also said the brakes and rotors were so bad the abs light should have been on......Yes you guys caught me out there trying to do for my son after a sixty hour work week and shopping the day before I came to your place.I wasn't on my p's and q's.....But not only did you rob me and my son.......You killed the chance of him getting a car for his young family and I am here to say as a FATHER I will do everything legally in my power to cause you problems........And You can take that to the bank with the rest of my money!!!!! Oooh and P.S....When I spoke to your boss willey....He said if he found out that you guys were resetting the car's computers.....He would fire them on the spot...I think someone needs to start looking for a job!!!! But then again.....I'am sure this is a family bussiness. REFUND MY MONEY......I DINT WANT TO FIGHT WITH YOU PEOPLE....

You say you bought this car for your son yet these very obvious problems like black oil could have been found by you during a test drive. What was that you said about negligence? Oh yes...resetting stored trouble codes is a simple matter and is not illegal.
