Van Nuys Appliances Thieves, liars, a**holes, terrible, rude, rednecks, Van Nuys, California

This is by far the worst company I have ever done business with. The location itself is disgusting, the building is a run down storefront full of dirty old appliances that smell bad, and to top it off there were flies everywhere. I was desperate for a cheap fridge that could be delivered same day, so my renters didn't have to go long without a refrigerator.I found a pretty decent one for a good price that was just the right size.

 I purchased it and everything seemed fine, the delivery men came a few hours later to install it. The apartment was on the second floor of my house and I clearly told them that when we discussed delivery. The delivery men told me they had no idea that it was upstairs, but they tried to get it up stairs anyway. They then told me it was too big to get through the doorway, even though the refrigerator that was already in the apartment  that was being replaced was slightly larger than this new one. They told me they were going to go back and have the sales woman call me to figure out what to do.

When she called me she was very rude and made it seem like I was the bad guy and I was forcing them to go out of their way to complete my purchase. She told me they didn't want to spend gas money to get the right sized refrigerator to my house and install. But they said if I was able to get back to the store before closing they would be kind enough to refund my money. So I had to drive all the way back to van nuys from the LAX airport with only 30 minutes until closing. Luckily I got back to the store right before they closed and went up to the owner who had help sell the refrigerator to me in the first place, and asked for my money. He took cash out of his pocket and started counting it out, then right as he was handing it to me, he said oh wait, do you have your receipt? Realizing that I had left it at home, I said no and he looked at me with a shady smirk and said "oh well then I cant give you a refund." I told him that the f***! I was just here an hour or two ago, you sold me the fridge, your incompetent delivery men wont install it, you need to give me my refund now so I can go to a reputable business."

Needless to say he didn't give me my money. So then for the next WEEK, I had to call them every day and hound them to send me a new fridge. The owner who looks like a crack head redneck basically told me to go to hell, and when I finally told him I was going to go to the cops and take him to small claims court, he decided to send me a smaller refrigerator, but of course he wouldn't refund me money for the price difference. When they finally came out they installed the new fridge and refused to haul the old one even though I paid for it to be taken and it clearly stated on the receipt OLD FRIDGE TO BE HAULED. The delivery men basically tried to tell me that there is no way the old refrigerator  would fit through the door way, even though I told them "how do you think it got up there." so they tried to convince me that the apartment must have been built around the refrigerator, which was complete bullshit, not only did I personally have that apartment built, I watched my husband take that refrigerator up the stair and through the doorway and install it myself!

So in the end I had to hire a hauling company to come and get the old one, which took them 10 minutes and it went right through the doorway without a hitch. So now 4 months later, to my dismay, the new fridge stopped working. Now I am trying to get a replacement, which is under warranty.

It's been 2 weeks since it broke and I am still trying to get it replaced. They actually brought me a replacement out the day I called, but even though it was the same exact size as the one they installed themselves 4 months ago, they claimed it was too big to get up the stairs. Now for the past 2 weeks I have been talking to the sales woman  who has been blowing me off and avoiding my calls. Now she says they are going to have to bring me an even smaller refrigerator and they still wont refund the difference even though I originally paid for one 2 times bigger.

Oh and when I asked about the refund she hung up on me. Long story short, if you are thinking about purchasing anything from this place, run.. RUN!!!! Don't do it! I would have been much happier just going to home depot and spending $100 more. The owners of this company are shady thieves and I would want nothing more for them to be shut down for doing bad business. I will be reporting the to the BBB.
