I was in Vandergriff Toyota September of 08 to purchase a Tundra. My sales guy was great but management was horrible. They told me we had a deal, i signed all the papers and took the tundra home. About a week later they call me telling me that they couldnt get the deal done and wanted more money or a co signer. I eventually told them just to give me my trade back. Needless to say they sent it to the auction before a deal was completed.
Another week goes by and they call me to come get my trade that they got it back from the auction. I returned their tundra and got my trade to find it was damaged and missing stereo equipment. I talked to the used car manager and told i wanted it repaired, he told me he wasnt going to fix anything and that he could charge me for the miles i put on the tundra. I told him theres no way i will pay the charge since it was their mistake.
He basically threw me and my 10 yr old daughter out of the dealership and told me to file my damages with my insurance. I went in the next morning pretty upset and spoke to the sales GM. He knew what was going on before i even told him and offered to get the deal done for the tundra if i was still interested and if not he would repair the damages to my trade in. I agreed to see if he could get it done.
He got me financed by some miracle since they supposedly needed "more money" down before. I have since had service issues since. They wanted me to leave the truck overnight but i told them no its my only source of transportation i asked for a loaner and they wouldnt take care of me. It has a leak in the windshield and its going to storm tonight. They tell me to put tape on it til i can get it back to them. They have the worst service EVER. Save your time and go somewhere else to buy a toyota youll be glad you did. Vandergriff is unprofessional and have lousy service.

I took the truck back the followinfg morning to have the windshield repaired. They assured me they would get the water stain cleaned on the headliner. When i picked it up there were big grease marks all on the windshield and the water stain still there. I have talked to the customer service manager and was told they will not do anything about it. I have left messages to the GM of the dealership which is the owner, to have nothing returned. So now i have to pay someone to clean and inspect my head liner that they should be doing. I strongly advise that people in the market for a toyota NEVER shop Vandergriff.

BANK or FINANCE COMPANY that holds the loan on your Tundra and get ALL THE COPIES of the loan documents that the Toyota Dealership sent them regarding your auto loan!!!
WHY? Because you said that they COULD NOT get you financed at first, correct? But they eventually did get you financed & it seems you didn't have to put anymore money down, right?
There is a CHANCE that some of your LOAN DOCUMENTS could have been ALTERED in order to get your loan approved. Make sure to get the copy of the 'APPLICATION' that you filled out regarding where you live, your social security #, and all of your EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION!!!!
Check to see if your MONTHLY INCOME was 'altered', or 'bumped', to a HIGHER AMOUNT! If the Toyota Dealership did this to get your loan approved then you didn't really get proper approval for the loan, wouldn't you agree?
Also, make sure that there isn't an EXTENDED WARRANTY that was submitted in the loan without your approval!
CALL THE BANK, or TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Corp.), IMMEDIATELY AND GET ALL COPIES OF THE LOAN DOCUMENTS THAT THE DEALERSHIP SENT THEM! DO NOT TRUST YOUR COPIES!!!!!!
Thank you.
I'm Karl, and I approve this Update!
