I recently had to intervene with my elderly mother's checking account because money was flying out the window, for no apparent reason.  These companies are debiting her account from $11.75 to to $19.97 /mo and $39 annually for several different "magazines".  This has been going on for over a year.

I called and pretended to be her and they told me she signed a check for this amount and that amount and it was all for these rip-off prize award/eligibility "magazines".  She send one check and suddenly she's in it for life.  None of the online copies of their checks were hers. They indicated an electronic signature on file, so they just keep printing money for thier own accounts.

Funny how most of the reports I've seen show that they prey on the elderly. They tell them they've won or will win.  She needs this crap like a hole in the head. The only one getting any money are these crooks who somehow seem to fly under the radar of law enforcement; never mind any ethical guidelines!
