I found a 72' El Camino on the Vanguard Motors website. I negociated a price with Tom. The car was advertised as "Fully Restored". I noticed the car had no Torque converter cover, no heater , no heater hoses, no interior fan,no dome light, and no defroster. When I brought this up to Tom, he didn't seem to care, but then said he would fix it only after I gave him a $1,000 deposit. I told Tom NO, I would send deposit after I saw the repairs were completed and working.
He agreed. He said it would take a week to complete. A week passwed and I didn't hear anything from Vanguard motors. I went to the website and saw the car I thought I was buying back up for sale. So Tom has no intention of doing any repairs, it was all BS. All Tom was intrested in was making as much money as he could regardless if the vehicle worked and ran as advertised or not. This company is a Rip Off, and I say Beware, stay away. Very dishonest and deceitful. So now I am looking for a muscle car from an honest dealer, but I will be more careful this time.

Hi Dave it sounds like there was a misunderstanding. We do not start additional work, or custom requests, on a vehicle without a financial commitment from the buyer. I am sure Tom explained this to you but maybe it was not made clear enough and we do apologize for that. Our goal is to give all of our customers a great experience, even the ones who do not purchase a vehicle from us. We are very sorry we left you with confusion.
If there is anything we can do to better your experience please reach out to us. We would rather you reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns than go online with your complaints. We would have been more than happy to help you with this matter. Tom is a very reasonable and honorable man. He has sold over 3,000 classic and muscle cars over the last 10 years, and made many customers very happy. This could not have been possible without an honest and transparent reputation. Again, we are very concerned that you feel you had a bad experience. Please reach out to us directly so we can correct the matter.
Thanks
