Do not fall for the vBulletin 5 connect scam. It does not support even 30% of the features is claims to. Paying for the upgrade or a new copy of this will take you back to vBulletin 2 times. The so called "upgrade" is actually a multi-year down grade.

It is also extremely insecure. It only supports versions of servers that have outdated services with security holes in them. It depends on several pieces of software that have reached their end of life cycles. This means the security holes will never be updated.

The company that is now vBulletin Solutions bought the old development company called Jelsoft, for name recognition only. The new developers copy and paste old code then leave it in the software commented out, bloating its size greatly to make it look like they've updated files. Open the code and look. You can see examples in almost every file.

While vBulletin 4 is extremely insecure as well at this point, at least it has the features it claims to have. Will never do business with this company again. They've proven that they are dishonest, and I suspect they don't actually have any real programmers working for them. Just collecting money by changing a version number and copy pasting some stuff and ripping out any features it broke.

You know. You should really read an entire post before insulting the poster. If you had you would see where I've pointed out they actually copy paste commented code to change file sizes so it looks like they have done something.

Also. They actually took features completely out. The store feature. Gone. The RSS feed puller, gone. The entire CMS system. Gone.

The company was bought with the sole intent of ripping off new and old customers. If you so choose to do your own research. The guy regularly buys companies going out of business for cut rate prices then drives them into the ground until the company becomes so known for being fraudulent he can't possibly make another dollar. Then he shuts it down.

Maybe next time hold your comments for someone you've actually done business with, for something you have a single clue about, and by all means, please read the entire post and make sure you grasp all points before making assumptions. I make billing and invoicing software. If I ran my business like these guys I'd constantly be sued.

Not sure how they "frauded" you

I like how you used the words "fraud" and "scam", and it seems just about everything these days is being considered those 2 words. I also like how you write this report out making it sound like this is the worst company in the world.

The reality is like any software, they will market it sounding like it's much better than the old version but it's essentially the same thing just like Apple does when their new iPhones.

The way you write it out though sounds like they stole from you when the reality is you're simply not happy with what you purchased. Choose your words wisely because what you posted is actually considered defamation.
