This is exert from another discussion board Not too long ago I was visiting the dentist....my first visit for a few years and I have dental insurance which is new to me.....well I'm asking about fees and such and the receptionist tells me that they can perform the services for the amount that the insurance company pays and it wouldn't cost me anything.....well then after my appointment I'm being asked to write out a check for $83.00 maybe not a lot for some but for me I didn't really have the budget for this....HERE'S THE POINT.....I felt as if ......like walking out of the grocery store without paying if I didn't write out a check....even though I was told previously that it wasn't going to cost me anything.....now they state well yes we are going to bill the insurance company and your money will be applied as credit towards more work....

Now wasn't it really dumb for me to have written out that check......sometimes I think this has a lot to do with how I grew up without a Dad and a pushover Mom who never really much stood her ground to take what should be.

I believe that a man who is for the most part extremely honest sees others this way...and it takes a lot of learning to finally come to understand it just isn't so......or is it just cowardice.....

And I suppose just as it's hard for me to really see just how dishonest so many people are in like manner I suppose those dishonest don't really understand that others are honest....so they are always so ready to take advantage of others before they are taken advantage of...


Oh in how many countless ways are we letting ourselves needlessly be taken advantage of.
