In august of this year I ordered a netbook from venue.  I decided to cancel the order because for starters the netbook was 2xs as much with them as it was in the stores plus it took them too long to ship.  To  make a long story short I get a call from the bank that issues the card to inform me that my account is delinquent I told them that's impossible because I cancelled the order and closed the account on the same day plus I never received the merchandise.  They said that Venue never contacted them and  now I must submit a letter to them informing them that I'm disputing the charges.  I contacted Venue on several occasions I'm put on hold for 20 minutes at a time, I'm switched from person to person and I'm still not getting anywhere.  I spoke to one perason that said that they informed the credit bureau that I closed the account but yet and still the bank is still saying that I owe them and I"ve spoken to the same person twice who keeps informing me that someone will call me back on this issue but in the meantime my credit ratiing is going down a notch each day this isn't taking care of.  Don't do business with this company.  If you need or want something that bad you're better off with one of the rent to own companies.

Venue - High Prices Due to High Risk Customers

AUTHOR: Tweenkee - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, November 12, 2009

It's no secret that Venue charges higher prices for their product. They do this and they do it on purpose. Their business model is simple 1) purchase credit files whose scores are on the lower end = high risk individuals. This credit file is purchased from the bank that will do their financing and this is how Venue has obtained your information and sent you an offer.

Since most of their customer base has a low credit score they know they can charge higher prices for their product because other retailers (e.g. Best Buy) will not extend credit to you, or it's unlikely you will be extended credit by a different retailer.

Although this might not be the case for all of you, some of you may have good credit and may have been solicited but you are not their core customer base. It's against the law to only target high risk credits which is why the purchased list includes some individuals with "good" credit but over 80% of their customer base falls under the "high risk credit" category.

In the end of it all, they are unethical and screwing people in the thousands!!

No Venue, No RTO...

AUTHOR: Edgeman - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 12, 2009

Venue is a terrible company to do business with. Check their prices and compare them to the market value for any of their items. On top of that, they charge you interest if you carry the balance too long.

That said, I can't back your endorsement of RTO companies. You still wind up paying more than the item is worth and they do not help your credit. If you need something, just save up for it. If you can afford RTO payments then you can afford to save.

Contact the Attorney General - Venue is Unethical

AUTHOR: Tweenkee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I used to work for this company when their name was Peachdirect - located in West Los Angeles, CA. Your complaint is very similar to so many I received during my employment with them. Although you've cancelled your order they have not issued a refund to your account. Please, please contact the attorney general regarding this scam. By law you should not have been charged for any product if the package has not shipped and clearly they've charged you but have not shipped your order.

While I worked there only customers who complained via the attorney general or sent a letter from an actual attorney threatening to sue would receive an immediate resolution either by giving them a full refund or giving them a retention credit/offer so they could continue with the order and keep paying for their item even though it had not shipped.

If they tell you the backlog is with the vendor, they are lying!!! The reason the order hasn't shipped is because Venue has not paid their vendors. They use the money they receive from the bank from current orders to pay old backlogged orders, for people that have been waiting longer than you for their product.

It's a vicious cycle and I can't believe this company is still in business!!! They have screwed over thousands of people and their credit!!! Their website is pretty but they are the most unethical company ever!!!! It's worth the trouble to escalate your issue to the highest authority possible because "A" they won't refund you just like that "B" if your order ships it will ship months later and "C" by then your credit may have a negative item due to non-payment and believe me Venue nor the bank they use will address that negative item on your credit report to correct it or remove it.
