verde electric fraudulent low cost electric claim norwalk Connecticut

Over a year ago I chose Verde Electric based on their claim to lower my electric bill.

My bill came from PP&L ELECTRIC ALLENTOWN PA. About 9 months after I made the change all of a sudden had a past due balance of over $900.00. I CALLED PP&L and they explained that is what Verde Electric said I owed. They did some research and said Verde was charging over 3 times the KWH rate they would have charged for this period. They suggested I file a complaint with the PUC which I did.

The PUC said that they have no authority over companies such as this but they would pursue the matter. They referred to this as a variable rate complaint. They suggested I contact the PA State Attorney Generals Office which i did.

I called Verde Electric and notified them of my intentions. They re-rated the the last 2 months bills and lowered my KWH rate. They sent me two checks totalling about $220.00. I said it was extremely alarming that I got that amount of money back for a 2 month re-rated and what about the previous 8-9 months? They refused to do anything further. I can canceled my service with them.

The PUC and Attorney Generals Office have advisedme that they will continue pursuing this but there is really nothing further to be done. I am now stuck with a bill for over $900.00.  I am a senior citizen on social security and this is devastating to me. I think a class action suite is warranted against this company.
