Idearc Internet Superpages is a Rip off! Slamming on the phone to agree to their services, then even when asked to cancel for lack of results just getting the run around. I have had their program such as it is now for over a year, to date not one actual piece of business out of it, not even an e mail. In checking my service provider for my web site RedlandsMercantile.com in the last 3 months there have been 2 clicks on the site attributed to their service, both by me to see if I can even access my own site from their service.
I am being billed twice, they stated there was a carry over from the previous contract for the last month of "service", though the last month was to be free!
$86 dollars a month for no results, 2 clicks in 3 months and I found out upon checking closely their web site Superpages.com that they also offer a free service that is almost identical to the one I am paying for. Just one surprise after another with these thieves.
I have not paid them for the past couple of months and they have sent me to collection, not returned my repeated calls to Jesse Smith the sales manager, who is according to those involved the only one that can possibly cancel this account.
Even if I brought the account up to date and paid them for their past billings, the problem is still there, It is a 1 year verbal contract!!
I need some advice as to what to do about this mess, I am on disability and the collections lady said that they will list it as a charge off on my credit report, and I still have to continue paying for the entire contract term, this is not right and a total Rip off, the list on this web site for the problems from many people is a long tale of woe, and that is just under the Idearc label, they will also show up as Verizon, Verizon Superpages, Superpages, Internet yellow pages, etc...
Can anyone offer me some advice? Please e mail me at (((redacted)))

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Idearc assistance from corporate offices
AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, February 09, 2009
I filed a report against Idearc recently, was contacted by another complainant and between us were able to reach a satisfactory resolution to our problem with Idearc/Verizon, go over the heads of those who cannot or will not help you. Send a letter to corporate, copy to all execs and sales managers from their web site, state your problem clearly and let them have a chance to correct the problem. Sound weird? Most companies will do most anything to avoid bad press, it is bad for business! After trying to go through the usual route of contacting salesmen, district managers, collectors, and a litany of those in the chain of command with no results I wrote an E Mail to corporate execs and within 3 days had a settlement to my problems. I highly encourage this course of action as it usually works. It did this time, to the credit of Idearc/Verizon. I was sick over the problems that this company caused me and my family, I was paralyzed with the what ifs and waited much too long to take this course of action, and without the assistance of Alan who guided me along after he did the hard work first and blazed the trail I may have still been in trouble. Thank you for the service that Rip Off Report provides, you guys are great!
