Vermont Castings / CFM Corp. Rip-off Company Mississauga Ontario

I bought a Vermont Castings grill nine years ago and always kept it covered and cleaned it on a regular basis. It was the top of the line at around two grand. It had all the bells and whistles, oven burner, rotisserie, smoker box and was mostly stainless. we loved it. It was not one of the cheaper ones at Home Depot (although I wish it had been at one half the price).

Everything was fine until I went to clean it a few days ago and the burners were laying in the bottom of the grill. The screws has rusted off. No big deal I thought, I would just replace the screws. Wrong. When I tried to remove the rusted off screws the fire box just crumbled. It was rusted or rotted and the holes are now one half inch in diameter!

Found my paper work and realized it was still under warranty. But wait, the dealer doesn't know me, they don't sell them anymore. After trying another dealer and searching the internet I find the parts aren't even made anymore. One would think that if a company buys another company they would at least honor the parts warranty! At any rate, so much for the warranty. The grill still looks new but looks don't cook! Thanks Vermont Castings and Lake Norman Propane, I should have bought a Weber. That is what my next grill will be. Evidently Vermont Castings is still manufacturing grills. But if you don't want a pile of scrap metal on wheels after a few years STAY away.
