The Commander always remarked : " why is that old women working?" I was always verbally abused by him using the F word on me on a regular bases . He made me train all Bartenders and order most products for the Business . I received no extra pay for this work . I have been sexually harassed by the Adjutant : Leo Hinojosa . One remark was ," Freda , what color is your pubic hair ? " Life member : Jose Decilos went on a drunken rage once at the bar and was calling me a b***h in heat . Not one person stopped him and the bartender on duty kept serving him .
I loved and needed my job at this post . I gave 100% to my work . The service flags on the fence were drawn and painted by me in my spare time . Not once did the commander thank me. The very mission of the VFW is help Veterans and widows of Veterans . I'm a widow of a WW11 Vet and a Korean vet .
