Victorias Secret WFNNB thieves Columbus Ohio

I recently received a "courtesy" call from Victoria's Secret- WFNNB saying that I had an outstanding balance of $200. I have had an account with them since 2005 and paid all of my bills on time. The last charge I had made was in July of 2007 for $38. I had also paid on this bill in August. However, since August, I received no statements saying that I had owed money.

This company waited 6 months until my bill was 5X what it should have been and then made a call. I had no idea that i even owed any money since I wasn't receiving any statements. The representative told me that my address was incorrect on the system (although I hadn't changed it since July?) but because they hadn't received any returned statements, they had no proof that I wasn't receiving them. I would think that having an incorrect address on the system would be proof enough! They cornered me on the phone saying that they would renew my credit, but only if i paid the full balance. Not only did i pay the balance in fear for my credit report, but also a $7 processing fee-- a slap in the face.

I was very upset about this and questioned the integrity of this company. I found the Report: #284224 to be an almost exact occurence of my situation.

I was charged for someone else's mistake and mislead to believe that if I owed money on my card, that I would receive a bill. The company told me that they are NOT REQUIRED to do this!
