Amazon & Viking/SimpleTech Or Digital Media/Nikon/Cnet Rebates That will not ship to P.O. Boxes. political corruption political corruption Internet Internet .....

Since Feb. I picked up not one but two 256mg Compact Flash Cards through Amazon.com. Each turned out to be a different vender. Both of these after I'd bought the card states on the rebate forms that THEY DO NOT ship to P.O. Boxes. I sent them in anyway and noted that the Post Office refuses to deliver to our rural home that includes so far the highway nearest our driveway.

This has been a two year battle for us and a 5 year battle including 3 other neighbors who share our same drive and rural area. We all want a mailbox for our physical homes but the local Post Office legal or not refuses to cooperate. Putting this aside it means that we may not get our rebate. As I called last week to discuss this situation with the Postmaster he told me that NO I could not put in a change of address from our physical house to that of our current P.O. Box number now or every year thereafter.

They don't care if it is a problem or if checks or other things are returned because they have the physical address instead of the P.O. Box address. Too bad. Now the post office claims it's the bad attitude of the rebate company or bad policy. The rebate companies are claiming that they are not at fault and that due to homeland security...I like that one. Also due to fraudulant claims through P.O. Box addresses they now refuse to send to them. Now let me get this straight they can't make sure that the only ship to one and only one box number therefore avoiding the same problem as shipping to one and only one address and person's name.

What's the difference. And obviously they have never lived in the rural western states that sometimes do not offer mail except through post office service only. (I must admit that most of the rural town post offices in my past have bent over backwards to get me my mail despite if it's sent to the house number and no box number but this one isn't going to.) Bottom line if I buy an item with the belief I'll get the rebate I better realize that I'm not going to.

The Nikon is added on here along with Cnet because they happened to be offering 100 rebates for the Nikon 5700 camera currently and I noticed that two places said the rebates would not honor P.O. Boxes but two others including etronics.com didn't have that wording attached. This makes me feel very uncomfortable.) Do I dare...I feel as if that is exactly what they are doing...I dare you to by something with a rebate offer only to say neener neener neener if you can't provide a house address...oh yes I can provide the house address but for Fed-x and UPS ground only! Thanx for listening!
