Villa View Rentals Della Santhakumar Poor customer service ruined family holiday , Internet

We rented the 'Hummingbird Retreat' villa in Watersong, Florida from Della Santhakumar and villa view rentals in April 2010. It was described as having the wow factor with no expense spared. Unfortunately we found this was not the case. On arrival, bedding was dirty and lying on the floor, rubbish bins were full, the villa was dirty, the BBQ a health hazard and the pool lights not working!

The management company attended and cleaned the villa but we were left with no spare bedding. We were told the owner was aware of the problem with the pool lights but would not authorise repair so we could not use the pool at night for the duration of our holiday. The owner failed to respond to numerous emails and calls. I only received a cursory "we are looking into matters". Not once did they apologise or explain about the appauling conditions we were faced with on arrival!

This was to be a special last family holiday together and I spent months looking for the perfect villa. This experience totally ruined our holiday but was made worse by the total lack of concern of the owner. To make matters worse, it took 5 weeks to get a response to my request for the return of the security deposit and a claim for compensation. It was met with a curt "we do not provide free holidays or compensation" They deducted money for 2 new sheets and extra cleaning they say were required after our stay. We left the house in a better condition than we found it! One of the children had a cut which left small blood spots on 1 of the sheets but this would not warrant replacement and certainly not 2 sheets. They even accused me of taking the photos I sent on departure rather than on arrival. Unbelievable!

I cannot believe that these people can run a rental company and I have no recourse for the problems I suffered. There is no one to regulate them and they are free to steal my money and there is nothing I can do about it!
