My family and I stayed one of these villa view rentals (Eagles Nest Villa). They have two others in the area - The Hummingbird Retreat and The Woodland Villa. We would not recommend doing business with these people.  We checked out on June 18, 2011 and still have not received our security deposit.

Florida law requires that "a landlord must either return your deposit within 15 days of termination of the rental agreement if the landlord does not intend to impose a claim upon the security deposit; or justify in writing by certified mail, to the tenant's last known mailing address within 30-days upon termination of a rental agreement." They are currently in violation of this statute.  Furthermore, English law (owners live in UK) require landlords place security deposits in one of two schemes -  custodial scheme or insurance scheme.  With the custodial scheme, the landlord must give the tenant details of the scheme that has been selected which we were never told.

During our stay, we found numerous things wrong with the house such as buckling floors, dirty barbecue grill, leaking ceiling, mold on shower curtains, refrigerator problems (wasn't getting cold), malfunctioning pool pump which lead to huge spiders in the pool, computer didn't work, limited cable channels, scuffed walls, dirty toilets, stained carpets, broken headboard, and the list goes on. They replaced our barbecue grill and management stated it was supposed to be disposed of. The shower curtains were cheap plastic liners.  We left the house clean and did what we were required to do to make sure we received our security deposit as stated in their agreement.

When management finally showed up two days later to fix the refrigerator, he didn't bring any tools with him.  He asked for a butter knife to screw/unscrew something in the fridge. When he tried to use the butter knife to fix the doorknob on outside bathroom door, my father went and got a screwdriver from his car for him to use.

Additionally, we were expecting a baby monitor since this was listed on their website. They said the previous renters took it and were returning it by courier. We never received it and were told  to purchase a baby monitor and take it home with us. They are so unprofessional.

Lastly, the sixth "bedroom" doesn't have a closet and was probably meant to be an office. When we mentioned to the owners that the home was a 5 bedroom home, they sent us a link to KB homes, claiming shock and stating that they were told they were purchasing a six bedroom house. Hmmmmm...

I wouldn't do business with these people.
