WE pedestrians need the enforcement of our cross walks, after they put up the proper signs so the cannot be runned over. Also, they need to put the signs not only on Park St., but on Lake St. as well.

They also need to enforce this on the driver's of passenger cars but to our own school bus driver's who have for gotten to stop for pedestrians, just as the citizens.

We the PEDESTIANS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY, AND i FOR ONE WOULD HATE TO GET HIT BY A SCHOOL BUS WHO LIKE THE CARS SEEM TO BE GOING KIND OF FAST DOWN THAT STRETCH. Do we have to wait until someone gets hit!!!! Thank you a concerned pedestrian.

there are a few things id like to say about that, one being most of the time people are driving drunk, but as well drunking people walking the street and yes thier at risk because they are so drunk they cant see let alone walk straight and i mean adults and teens doing this,, this concerns me for the fact of the seniors and lil children in this town, and the drunks who do this they all know who they are and shame on you. anothier thing that scares me is these young teens driving skills so i feel thier should be some dwi going on and some arrest for be drunk in public and some speeding tickets going down. last thing i want to have to be worried about when im walking down the street is getting ran over by drunks and seeing a discusting display of drunking people walking up the side walks staggering and throwing up on the side walk its called aa go to it

Some more information please

Raine,

Are the areas you mention marked as crosswalks or not. I wasn't able to determine that from your post. If they are marked, then yes after looking up NY state law the pedestrian does have the right of way. But if they are not marked, or you are crossing out side of a marked crosswalk, then NY state law says the vehicles have the right of way. So are these areas marked or not?

Additionally, the pedestrian has the responsiblity to not dart off the curb in a manner that makes the driver unable to stop in time. Could you please respond and let me know more on this situation? Thanks
