CMC Recovery Services - Vincent Skylar Lawsuit threat if I don't pay ripoff Stone Mountain Georgia

When I spoke with the "Investigator" Vincent Skylar, he told me that my case was going to court. I was insistent to fight it because I have the proof that I do not owe the credit card company and the account has been settled more than 9 years ago.

I had to decide that same time I talked to him. Should I fight it, it would cost me about $1,500 for the lawyers fee and $4,000 for the court. They would file the case to court and I would received the subpoena within 6 days. I tried explaining and offered to fax them the letter I received from First USA stating that my account has been settled with Zero balance. But he told me that my case is not about money. He claims that the company has sent me letters to all the addresses that I've been to (except the current which explains why I never received anything). But how did they get my address..go figure.

Scared of legal procedures and humiliation, I was forced to pay $849.13 which was originally $24.99 that accrued interest over the years. I have not received any proof of settlement except the credit card receipt that I need to sign and return to them.

It has only been 18 days. I could still cancel my payment since I used a credit card to pay them. Please let me know if I can still do anything about it. Thanks.
