I have dealt with vipautofail, or 'care' and I can confirm that towing is NOT free, even with repairs. The rude receptionist there told me so and so was fixed with my then car, while their meathead tow truck guy that claims to be a mechanic told me that so and so wasn't fixed since I somehow didn't tell them to do so...um which lie is it? They lie so much that they can't keep their stories in check.
I was charged for towing TWICE, the last time THEIR FAULT since my 'fixed' car died after 10 minutes of driving. While I was driving, I called them and told them that the gas gauge was wildly going up and down. Remember the receptionist? She orginally told me that was fixed, yet this scumbag tow guy kept lying to protect himself saying that I didn't tell them to fix that.
I WAS TOLD REPEATEDLY that everything was fixed. That was the only reason why I agreed to the ridiculous repair costs. This place takes advantage of people down on their luck, and overcharges people. They have screwed so many people over.
And that's not all. They flag reviews of their shady business on other websites. I caught the meathead tow truck guy Neiman posting fake postive reviews on google. The idiot was too stupid/lazy to use another alias to post his fake 5 star review. He has since removed it, but again this shows the dishonest people that work here.
They do this to try to raise up the review score of their awful business. Right now as I type this, the review is at 2.6, and that's WITH them padding up their score. Before that, the score was in the 1 range, which lets you know the kind of people you are dealing with here.
Finally, these crooks that work at vipautofail ALSO run a lemon used car lot called Rez auto sales. They have screwed people there too.

Difference Request for repair Vs Rejection of Repair

Melissa,
Our time too is quite valuable and while I would continue to address your issues, I do not have time to follow up on false and erroneous complaints.
IF you had asked us to repair your vehicle the first time, We would not have charged you for the towing as we would have actually completed mechanical repairs on your car ans thus the towing fees would have been removed.
Wasn't this your original complaint? Being charged for towing? Fact is we did NOT do any mechanical work to your vehicle because YOU did not want us to. You were quite clear and explicit about this fact.
Again I understand not wanting to leave your car in a parking lot where it would have been towed by the city or vandalized or broken into, and you wanted the cheapest and easiest way to get your car started, however being negligent in vehicle maintenance and repair cannot be put off on anyone else other than the vehicle's owner.
City Ordinance forbids any shop from performing any repairs NOT authorized by the car's owner. YOU asked us to do nothing else other than the battery, we can not fix your car for free just because we see other repairs needed. When you reject mechanic's advice to save a few bucks the results are often costly.
Bashing our shop on-line is not going to make your situation any better or change the fact that you rejected recommended repairs.
You are welcome to file any report you want or to even arbitrate this issue on this site. You seem pretty determined to hurt our reputation, so "let's set the record straight"
I am sorry you feel that we are responsible for your negligence and decision not to repair your vehicle however we can only recommend repairs, we can NOT force you to fix or maintain your vehicle.
We have to be courteous to our other customers and share our time, so we look forward to your arbitration on this site or your filing with the BBB, until then we bid you well.

Melissa,
Again, we are sorry for the situation you find yourself in, however this was an avoidable outcome.
As stated before we did NOT work on your car. NO mechanical work was done. YOU made it quite clear to us that you did NOT want anything done to the vehicle other than changing the battery. You said you did NOT want to be charged for unnecessary repairs and YOU knew it was "just the battery"
Against our recommendations the only thing that was swapped was your battery. You were warned the alternator was going bad on your car and again, you said you knew there was nothing wrong with it, and it was just the battery.
We can not force you to maintain your vehicle nor an we do any repairs we are NOT authorized to do.
Again asking a shop to swap out a battery is not having a vehicle repaired. There are other mechanical factors which may affect the battery.
By Not allowing us to repair the vehicle and make the necessary repairs you took it upon yourself to accept any out come. There is no reason for us to make excuses, as YOU did not allow us to repair your car as needed.
You were charged for towing and a battery, nothing more, as nothing more was done. it is regrettable when people ignore automotive maintenance and repair needs as it usually does result in further damage and additional cost.
Although you did not give us the opportunity to fix your car correctly, we hope you follow the next mechanic's advice and allow them to complete the required repairs. We wish you luck and best wishes in correcting your vehicular issues.

Ummm no, I asked you if it was anything other than the battery and you were either incompetent or lazy, but you told me it was just the battery. Of course I wanted you to actually repair it, why would I pay you over $200 only to have it break down two days later that's ridiculous. I'm done arguing, I'm reporting you to the BBB and others can clearly see you're a scammer.

OF COURSE I asked you to repair my car. Why would I want to you to do something that would cause it to break down again 2 days later and pay you over $200 for it?!?! You're just trying to make excuses. I even asked if it was something other than the battery. I'm done arguing and I'm reporting you to the BBB. Other people can clearly see that you're a scammer.

Melissa,
Sorry to read about your unfortunate situation.
While we sympathize with you we find your actions of placing blame on our shop and erroneously filling reports in bad form.
First let me explain that a battery is rarely fixed. If it is, it is usually sent into a manufacturer to be refurbished, where they use the casing and replace the cells, however this was not the case in your situation. You received a NEW battery for your vehicle.
Now the truth of the matter is, we did NOT fix your car. You did not let us work on your car. We offer free diagnosis with all completed repairs. You did not allow us to work on your vehicle other than changing the battery. You voiced this quite strongly and were quite coarse in expressing this.
Perhaps if we had been allowed to repair your vehicle the incedent you described would not have occurred.
Again, we are saddened to hear about your predicament and we do wish you the best of luck.

It's been less than 2 days and my car broke down (because of the battery they were supposed to fix) and battery acid was dripping all over the place. You know, if you don't want people to complain about you STOP LYING TO THEM AND ACTUALLY FIX THEIR CAR!!!

Hello Melissa,
First let me thank you for your feedback. We are always appreciative to hear about our service and how people perceived it.
To address your concerns let me first say we have NO FINE PRINT in our ads. All of our ads read the same terms and conditions to the repairs and promotions we offer. "Free Towing & Diagnostics With Repairs, Loaner Car available in Most Cases"
So lets start from the beginning, you called late in the evening expressed your car was in the parking lot of a business and you did not want to leave it there over night, you asked if we could tow your vehicle to our shop and have it looked at. We did just that.
Now, let me cover the first part or our Ad. The stipulation is the towing and diagnostics would be free WITH REPAIRS. Truth is you did not allow us to repair your vehicle. All you wanted to have done, as you expressed quite vehemently, was to have the battery swapped out. We did that too.
You address the issue of a rental car, however our ads DO NOT say rental car, they clearly say LOANER CAR in MOST Cases. Again, we reserve these for cars needing actual repairs.
I apologize if there was a misunderstanding in this however all requisites and stipulations are plainly listed in our ads. The swapping of a battery is NOT a repair, there was NO mechanical work done to your vehicle. This is the equivalent of a service call (i.e. getting a flat fixed, oil changed, battery boosted) and we can NOT justify the cost of towing with the work requested.
This would be the equivalent of going to a nice restaurant ordering a drink and having the complimentary chips then expecting to get the "free desert with meal" offer.
I understand you did NOT want to leave your car in the parking lot of a business and risk it being towed by the city or vandalized however, having it towed to a shop hoping to take advantage of a genuine offer provided to people needing repairs is not a smart or cheap alternative.
I express deep regret for your misunderstanding of the situation but I will add that you were not charged for any additional services or frivolous fees. The only suggestion I can make is to consider AAA or any other roadside assistance providers in the future for these matters.
Again thanks for your feedback it's been helpful and beneficial
