VIP Auto guarantees its customers that if they get a quote on tires that VIP will not only meet the competitors price, they will beat it by 5%, the only stipulation is that it has to be a compareable tire. I recently obtained a quote from one of VIP's competitors and took that quote to VIP. Not only did they not beat the quote, they didn't even meet the quote. The estimate I got from VIP was $16 MORE!
The quote I obtained was for four tires, mounted, balanced and road hazard. The tires have a 50,000 mile tread wear warranty. When VIP realized they couldn't meet or beat the price and still make a profit they started looking for reasons to not honor their guarantee. The first excuse was that GoodYear didnt make that tire (as the employee is looking in a 2007 catalog), the second was that they couldnt get those particular tires (I asked about a compareable 50,000 mile tire) and then their final excuse was that they said that the tires I was quoted didn't have a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty.
I brought VIP an estimate for four 50,000 mile treadwear warranty tires, mounted, balanced with road hazard for $389. VIP's estimate for me was for four 40,000 mile treadwear warranty tires, mounted, balanced and road hazard was $405. So much for their meet it or beat it guarantee and so much for my patronage of their business. I WILL go elsewhere and even pay more before I deal with VIP ever again. I will not deal with a company that has no integrity towards the customer a direct violation of their own pledge to their customers.
