I was sent a text message from solow and asked to try the games. I sent back a text "NO" and I recieved a text telling me I just signed up and to cancel it I must send back "stop" which I did and they replied "sorry to see you go". I then see on my Verizon wireless bill $.99 for premium message and $22 for the fee of joining solow. I never ever signed up or asked to. I called verizon and they tell me they can't remove the charges but could go on line to "solow" and ask for refund. Verizon bills me and hen sends the fee to solow so this shows that they are making a profit from the scam. I hold verizon responsible for the fees. I ask to speek to a superviser and the person " named "Oscar" tells me they don't remove third party charges! Oscar would not give me his last name or even the state he was in.

If verizon makes money from billing and collecting from this "solow" company and they know that its a scam/ripoff/fraud then they also are part of the scam. Don't even look at the text message or you will be billed and they both verizon and solow will steal your money. I have no way of getting my money back for if I don't pay the charges they will tack late charges and then shut my phone off as per "Oscar".

I wish I could take both Verizon and solow to court and maybe t jury will see it my way and award me a cool mill for the trouble they caused me!!!

By the way I was so mad at the verizon "Oscar" that later me and my wife had a fight over me getting so upset..........

What the big business they are and still stealing your money....

Also Wrongfully Charged by SoLow

AUTHOR: voodoochile75 - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 25, 2009

I just reviewed this month's Verizon bill and noticed a 9.99 Premium Text Charge.  I just signed up for a text package a couple months ago and thought that's what it was.  I looked a little more closely at my online bill and decided to call.

They informed me of who was charging the fee, SoLow.  They advised me to sent a "quit" text to a number and I quickly got a confirmation of me quitting.  The odd thing is, I never signed up for any type of texting service ever.

I was talking to the Verizon rep and he said it was back in May and the charges started on my June bill.  I found this to be very close to when I actually signed up for texting, as I previously had texts blocked on my phones.

He confirmed that SoLow started billing me 3 days after I signed up for the text service.  I find that awfully coincidental.

At any rate, I was billed 3 months, but Verizon refunded 2 directly to my bill.

If 'solow' is sending you the check....

AUTHOR: Scooterk - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 25, 2009

...it would look as though they were the ones making/taking the money from you using Verizon Wireless as the conduit.

Premium text messages (pretty much any text sent to a 5 or 6 digit number) are called this because they are offering a 'premium' service. The most common are the ones that are shown on tv offering ringtones, wallpapers and games, where you would send a text to said 5/6 digit number and there is usually a bunch of very small print at the bottom of the screen detailing how you will be charged. This service can be blocked by most providers so this does not occur. Have you asked to have this service blocked? If not, you may want to call and do so. In most cases, it should not cause any issues with your regular text messaging but you may want to double check with the provider.

So if you don't work for Verizon why did you even comment on this message board? If you do work for Verizon then why are you not saying anything?
Give us some insight to who you are.

verizon does nothing for free!!!!

AUTHOR: Santo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 01, 2009

Your company is not doing anything for free. If so give me my service for free!!!
Tell the truth and don't allow companies to us you for their scams. How did this company get my phone number when I am on do not call list if you didn't sell it to them? One last thing you do billing and passing on the total fee charged to this "Solow" company or any other company without charging a processing fee?

Misdirected ire and misunderstanding of billing

AUTHOR: Bikebryan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 26, 2009

Your ire should not directed at VZW. They are merely the conduit through which your money passes. Regardless of what you think, wireless carriers don't make a thin cent from these charges. They are all passed back to the third party vendor, which is why they won't refund the charge to you.

Also, regardless of what you think, you DID do something to express interest. Even if enrolled in the program for part of a day, you are still charged for the full month. That is not the policy of the wireless company but of the third party vendor.

I'm not saying I disagree with you being upset, but you are upset at the wrong company. The wireless companies are just the messengers in these charges, and you know the saying...don't shoot the messenger.

So how about filing your complaint against the correct company next time?
