Be careful when deciding to purchase Virginia Farm Bureau homeowners insurance. I had homeowners and a rental house insurance for many years with Virginia Farm Bureau and I was cancelled by them on both houses because I did not have an associated auto policy with them. This might sound like not a big deal but at the time I was renovating the rental unit and it was hard to purchase other insurance while the rental was being renovated. That is unless you were willing to pay 400% more than what you were already paying for an unoccupied residence. On top of that I was still receiving a request to pay their $40 membership fee. Yea Right!! The Virginia State Corporation Commission sides with Virginia Farm Bureau so don't think your protected by them.

Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Company is in cahoots with the Virginia Legislator (senators and etc) in Richmond. Several are on the pay of VFB lobby! If you only knew the "whole" story here folks of what VFB is getting away with and taking advantage of citizens and its customers. Example: If your tags or insurance lapses for any reason, VFB is notified by DMV. Even if your car is being restored or repaired and not drivable! VFB will turn you in to the DMV is your insured by them for anything.
Violation of your privacy is not protected! Further, my entire family are farmers. We all have dropped VFB due to unethical and constant increases just to pay the salaries of virginia congressmen and senators lobby. Plus I wonder how much VFB paid to the former Governer and present Governor of Va. The VFB thinks nothing about its customers or insured except as a "revenue" source. In my opinion VFB should be put out of business for unethical and improper conduct!
